this is really good I will say as a pianist myself but damn.. i must say i am kinda disappointed. This song is meant to swing. I kept waiting for it and it just never came.
Hi, my name is Henry White, live in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, first congratulations on sound ...... I have a question: what is the make and model of your digital piano??
@carloshenriqueasb Thanks Henry, I use the yamaha model dgx 620 grand piano with graded hammer keyboard, the sound is not standard to the keyboard, the sound is with Tascam Gigastudio, Steinway D from sampletekk, need PC with 3000 Mhz, Soundcard with GSIF, 2 gb ram and of approximately 15 gb space to load this piano.
You definitely deserve more views....How understated you are...It's sad how the World worshipped a person of undefined sexuality who sung a song about babies but a true virtuoso like you are, are not.......How sad,how sad...The World with its Worldly delusions........
Hi this is a really lovely arrangement of this song, your voicings over the opening a section are wonderful. Now that said, why are you getting hated on? You want advice from a real american jazz musician? fuck em and do your own thing. Sounds good man!!
@Gfromdastreet Hi, I saw that you are Swedish, I was in Stockholm in 2005, very beautiful city. However, this title is recommended to me by a great jazz musician born in the USA. Conspicuous that it was for musical expressions which I have not hesitated to use this title.
However, now I am curious to know how you would have called :-)
@PianistaItaliano Hi, im sorry for the rude comment, I meant no disrespect and never thought the artist actually would read the comment. I kinda thought it seemed to be a bit of a cliche, a bit unoriginal. However, if there is a story and a deeper thought behind the name the title is a good one. After listening to some more of your music (which i really like), the name fits better and better. Personally, if I didn't have a clue what to call my album, I'd name it "Silent Emotion".
My ears are playing tricks on me. Or my crappy laptop speakers. The two pedal notes at :44 and :47 sound like different notes, on a really sinister pitch (like Eb then Db)!
Must listen to it again with headphones or something.
@pitchstrings: I fully agree - hats off sir!!! What a lovely, uncomplicated sound and clean accompaniment. I have a small request: Please could you do an arrangement of the Michel Legrand songs "The Summer Knows", "What are you doing the rest of your life" and "If it takes forever, I will wait for you"?
Dear Fellow Pianist, Came to youtube to see how other pianists interpret this piece. Totally forgot about reharmonization, personally I prefer the standard harmonies, but I'll give it a try. Also, the midi keys on the bottom were great help in figuring out what exactly what you were doing. Essentially, your moving the bass downwards chromatically and substituting the original harmony with lydian/sus chords. Am I correct?
please, please, please, mm... do you have the score (with the notes)? if you have it, is there some way that you can send it to me? i will appreciate so much!
Believe it or not you have given me great ideas on how to play this song although I play this in a combo your basic idea on voicings helps a lot thanks !!
wow....just wow, im doing this for solo guitar at the moment and thought id take inspiration from some pianists interpretation and stumble across this mastery
hats off sir, ive never heard this old standard sound so good
This is not an easy song to play and you flourish in and out with such ease and purity of style. You do the song honor with your treatment of it. Reminds me of the classy cocktail lounges of the old days that don't exist so much anymore.
Ummm, ¿Jerome Kern?... no lo conocía, gracias por compartir la historia y los títulos de canciones que para mí son nuevas y que descubro así, de pronto, un día como hoy, escuchando al gran pianistaitaliano, thank you!
...by the way again (at 9 o'clock in the morning it's hard to put clouds together), congratulations for the video clip - a glimpse of shirt and a couple of hands in black and white...simple, good taste, elegant...maybe italian ?...
...by the way, "PianistaItaliano", funny the way you left the scene of the crime in the end...like "Dio sia lodato, it's over, let's go for a drink and a bite !!!"
...one day, go figure why, I decided to start a collection of versions of this pearl...funny, I found out that I already had 3 versions...who knows, it was already written in my ADN ?...your version put me on a cloud for 4 minutes and 7 seconds...bless you "PianistaItaliano" for the cloud...and it's only 9 o'clock in the morning !...I will keep an ear on you...take care and may the Gods protect you :o)
My school Grade 9 jazz band I play in is playing a full latin version of this song, with like all the jazz instruments, i dont know if its a rewrite but i havent found the version were playing on youtube
I know it's not exactly the same but it just occurred to me that there may be a little bit of Frederic Chopin in this composition (Prelude Op.28 No. 20). What do you think?
I do not use a special book, any news that I find interesting, I will then hold in mind both in my practice that in my theory. Then, for the rest most of the "Jazz Standard" I hunt out of the Real Jazz Book. I am of the opinion that to be an advantage to learn, we must not learn to case, but above all you have to know exactly what you're looking for, to get closer to this goal
Thanks Morpheu777.yamaha is the model dgx 620 grand piano with graded hammer keyboard, the sound is not standard to the keyboard, but from Tascam Gigastudio, Steinway D from sampletekk, need PC with 3000 Mhz, Soundcard with GSIF, 2 gb ram and of approximately 15 gb space to load this piano.

Great performance... Sounds very nice..
I am quite new to jazz music.. A have a query - does a typical jazz listener recognize chord progressions in the
improvised section.. (He obviously may not know the chord names).. Or is it that the listener just enjoys the
improvised music without understanding where the musician is (in the chord progression)..
