Hallucinogen bridges the gap between music and trance. Trance can often fall into the trap of just being a heartbeat with trippy sounds added. Hallucinogen tells a story, a hypnotic story that makes your body move like trance, and makes your heart move like music that we are all used to (like, things with lyrics, soundtracks, stuff like that) Each song a story expressed through dance/imagination. it is rare to hear sounds like this. I think a big reason is, to mix hallucinogen needs REAL SKILL

just an answer to those who want to convince us that today's fullon psy trance is better than the old school 90's goa trance...... 90's goa - psy (or whatever you wanna call them) bands were creating a music to listen and their music had a dose of their feelings thats why they are timeless... today's fullon psy-crap bands are creating products to sell just for money... their music is just listenable but is not going to be remembered after a few years... emotionless music for masses. such a pitty

Actually, I couldn't disagree with you more. It depends on who you are talking about for that matter. IM/Hallucinogen are a little different than the rest of the bunch. They've actual passion for music- and it shows through their albums. IM is disgustingly experimental, and they are not afraid (or for that matter give enough of a fuck about upsetting the fanbase) by trying something new. I mean, hell, are you to tell me 2000's dub is trash VS 90's dub? What of Ott? gtfo plz

@danni13371 See, you are 100% correct. Posford is an absolute genius in Hallucinogen in the fact that Psytrance as a specific genre was really his creation. Infected mushroom ruined what the might have had because they become too mainstream. Posford is also a genius in the maximum utilization of what relatively little equipment he uses to make these tracks. Also, this is just him, not a team like Infected.

Sometimes it surprises me when I show these tracks to people and they ask " Is this really just one guy?!! So-and-so has this many people!" I look at them am say "....Yes" I mean, how many people do you need?? Simon has proven he just need one thing: his mind.

14 years and still not tired of listening, whole album is pure gold! 1997 was good year for original electronic psychedelia (koxbkox, infected etc...) Far away from tangerine dream and schulze, but kinda like Orb in faster BPM :) Love this and missing good old times! 5/5

@danni13371 Fuck oath mate , this is where the big changes started but for the most part those big changes get ignored for the psy of tomorrow and with psy being in line with ever growing , ever quickening thought process there is that need for evolution , but we all need to remember and pay homage to the ones that gave us the theory , in conclusion lets seperate the men from the boys and we all know how eager for attention boys are... i like IM too, but i dont like when they ruin their song with lyrics, what they try to sing, but that sounds so aggressive, like at converting vegetarians... i think psy trance should be only trippy music which may contain something deep speech that makes confused and thats it! not anything "singing" (at least anything loud) except possibly something relaxing and confusing... but thats just my opinion

@danni13371 Infected Mushroom sold out big time. they changed their all around sound to sell more records. I liked one album from them. the gathering, that was it. after that i was like this is poop. Its nice to see shpongle(posford) go big without changing his sound. Posford is definetly a talented person. I like Logic Bomb a whole lot too, Sonic Algerbra is so dope.

@215 , infected mushroom was good when they started (for ex. bp.empire) but later on i started to dislike them especially the album converting vegetarians, imo it sucks.

and i find that posford hasnt made a single bad track, shpongle, hallucinogen, celtic cross, younger brother and other are truelly amazing

Do your homework; after writing some tunes together Duvdev admitted that IM are, and I quote "1/10th" as talented as Simon. They have some moments (used to I should say), but Simon is one of those very, very rare genius's. That being said, IM used to put on a mad live show (Duv and his head banging)
