They made Metroid into a "Ninja Gaiden" themed type of gameplay. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like it (except the sense move. If the sequel appears, make the sense move have a cooldown, too easy to spam), and it's fun, the gameplay is tight. However... it leaves a lot to be desired. It's got the skeleton down, but never really delivered anything fulfilling. Other M was good, but for a PURE Metroid game, Team Ninja is an automatic OUT. I LOVE Other M, by the way, I don't hate it.
In this game you're asked to forget that Samus has spent the last 10-15 years on solitary missions ridding the galaxy of Space Pirates, saving the universe and surviving on her own as a bounty hunter. Instead, Other M expects you to accept her as a submissive, child-like and self-doubting little girl that cannot possibly wield the amount of power she possesses unless directed to by a man.

@melvinromeroreyes No, it was made in 2001, with Halo: Combat Evolved. Metroid Prime came in 2002, slated constantly because of production costs. Even so, Metroid started in the late 80s, which is long before the Halo concept was walking around in diapers.
As soon as Samus was revealed to be some model/anime girl in MP2, I found her harder to take seriously and the series lost a lot of its grittiness. Personally I preferred how she appeared in MP1 when she looked like a relatively normal woman.

@crappyfilmproduction I think Other M is probably the third or fourth best Metroid game in the franchise. Some of the game play was a bit stiff and the fact that walking into a new room will automaticlly tell the player where any items are hidden by marking their exact location on the map keeps the game from moving up to being secondnd best. To me Super Metroid is number one, Metroid Prime is numer two, and Metroid Zero Mission sometimes feels like nuber three, but its just an updated remake...
I don't have a Xbox or Play Station, but the day I saw this commercial I was so moved I had to get it. I love video games that have a story. Anyways my boyfriend bought it for his Xbox and I played it on his. Also completely random, but Red Dead Redemption is so much fun!!

this game was awesome regardless of team ninjas involvment , I think that toward the end they really delivered on a game that is truly all about samus.
Fusion was from 2002, and this game bridges the gap between Super and that game, explaining a lot of things. And playable only for old-school Metroids fans my ass. Was the same true for the new Ninja Gaiden games, also from one of the teams behind Other M?
I think that this game is only "playable" to people that know the Metroid Series, because this game is like the continue of Super Metroid (1994), and there are lots of bosses that are from : Super Metroid, Metroid 2: Return of Samus Aran, Metroid Fusion and more, so it gets boring to people that are new to the game series. I'm a very big fan of Metroid, I have played all the games of Metroid, and I know the whole story, so it's VERY NICE for me to play this new game.

I absolutely love this trailer. The editing and music are amazing. I feel powerful when I play as Samus! She is a riveting, lethal force. The challenges of switching between 3rd and 1st person views are great, I love a change of pace. Haters, quiet yourselves and loosen up. You are probably being too picky. Metroid: Other M is a damn good time.

You are so right about so many things that it is so so amazing I so have to list them...
1. Fighting scary space dragons stops being scary almost immediately
2. You know more about courage and fear than the other 6B+ humans on this planet
3. The fire area argument is caused by murderous character development, and not by poorly meshing a plot device with game mechanics
4. Obeying a CO is totally crazy

i loved metroid prime 1 and 2, never played 3, and this looks cool :). but what the hell is with the epic monster finishing? thats a rip off from games like prince of persia or 50 cent bulletproof. i wish they would just stick to the first person stuff, shootin shit up, not this extra stuff.

@melvinromeroreyes No, it was made in 2001, with Halo: Combat Evolved. Metroid Prime came in 2002, slated constantly because of production costs. Even so, Metroid started in the late 80s, which is long before the Halo concept was walking around in diapers.

As soon as Samus was revealed to be some model/anime girl in MP2, I found her harder to take seriously and the series lost a lot of its grittiness. Personally I preferred how she appeared in MP1 when she looked like a relatively normal woman.

This is one of the best (if not the best) Metroid game of all time.
It had the most amazing CGI I've ever seen in a Nintendo game.
It took four years to create, which I really appreciate. :D

@crappyfilmproduction I think Other M is probably the third or fourth best Metroid game in the franchise. Some of the game play was a bit stiff and the fact that walking into a new room will automaticlly tell the player where any items are hidden by marking their exact location on the map keeps the game from moving up to being secondnd best. To me Super Metroid is number one, Metroid Prime is numer two, and Metroid Zero Mission sometimes feels like nuber three, but its just an updated remake...

I don't have a Xbox or Play Station, but the day I saw this commercial I was so moved I had to get it. I love video games that have a story. Anyways my boyfriend bought it for his Xbox and I played it on his. Also completely random, but Red Dead Redemption is so much fun!!

No but i do think they really add to the experience hard to enjoy an exotic alien planet when everything looks grainy and blurred.
especially after Prime corruption was so very nice with that aspect.

Fusion was from 2002, and this game bridges the gap between Super and that game, explaining a lot of things. And playable only for old-school Metroids fans my ass. Was the same true for the new Ninja Gaiden games, also from one of the teams behind Other M?

I think that this game is only "playable" to people that know the Metroid Series, because this game is like the continue of Super Metroid (1994), and there are lots of bosses that are from : Super Metroid, Metroid 2: Return of Samus Aran, Metroid Fusion and more, so it gets boring to people that are new to the game series. I'm a very big fan of Metroid, I have played all the games of Metroid, and I know the whole story, so it's VERY NICE for me to play this new game.

@hangtight97 thts actually not true cuz sometimes samus will come off as a complete idiot. like before the "mystery creature" battle, maurice clearly states that they were doing biological weapons test on the bottle ship and then 2 seconds later samus says "Adam! Were they doing biological weapons test on the bottle ship?!?" then she will talk about it again in her head even though we just learned that like 5 minutes ago.

I absolutely love this trailer. The editing and music are amazing. I feel powerful when I play as Samus! She is a riveting, lethal force. The challenges of switching between 3rd and 1st person views are great, I love a change of pace. Haters, quiet yourselves and loosen up. You are probably being too picky. Metroid: Other M is a damn good time.
