  • 2 people just.... suck

  • I will never get tired of this version

  • Sounds like when you go into a room at a party and you know everyone there :P

  • there is andy warhol playing bass?

  • DEVO

  • JO EM QUEDO AMB EL CARETO DEL PAJARU FLIPANT !!! ...

  • DO YOU KNOW J. IGLESIAS ? , THIS IS THE COVER !!! ... WILD AND FUNNY AND ... SORRY I NEED A TEACHER -MAESTRO ...SOU TAN MACOS !!!

  • they look like... "the last shit i took was pretty fuckin' odd!"

  • i dnot always like that sensation...I bet gibby is not a Kathy vagina...I also didnt appreciate the part about sex with death... not sure if HE is responsible...KINGKOFFE is queer too

  • Greatest band of all time

  • I want to like this band, they done some amazing tunes, they are awesome live, but they made a lot of noise songs which sounds very unpleasant to me, and makes me feel bad, and I just don't get the point. They are cool, but I guess I'll never be a true fan

  • @cobyblack well considering their classic phase (1982 to 87) was as a punky acid-rock/psychedelic band thats hardly suprising. they specilised in melting lsd faces. and were very good at it too! hav fun exploring the buttholes.

  • @gnowave thanks for reply, yeah I guess they were inspired by lsd and they had their own audience of similar thinking people, it was probably very unique atmosphere, and everybody won, these days we have some weird records and crazy videos and it's nice to see how Gibby caries a gun on stage without his shoe and plays with fire and Paul makes crazy cool faces and nude girl with them. Awesome band, I guess I enjoy them even more when at some point in my life I'll try acid :D

  • @cobyblack yeh, they were hevily into strong spirit alcohol, LSD, and bong-smoking.

but, these days theres a better choice of LSD/psychedelic stuff to listen to, but at least the buttholes in their own way kept the trip flag flying. gibby, what a fun guy. i felt they had much in common with the 60s band 13th floor elevators in spirit somehow. and their cover of 13th floor elevators "earthquake" is excelent. check out bands called bongwater and shockabilly, same generations acid rock.

  • @gnowave in these past months I was listening a lot to this band, and you what do you know I began to like them even more, now I can enjoy the noise they make while playing "something" live, I love every track on these albums: Butthole Surfers, PCPPEP, piouhgd ( usually I skip "barking dogs" but it's cool in the right mood), hairway to steven and psychic...powerless... I love those albums! and it's very hard to play instrument when you're on drugs or drunk...thanks I'll check those bands also

  • @gnowave I never heard of 13th floor elevators so I'll check them out also! btw I don't want to do anything with other drugs than marijuana, at least at the moment lol also for some reason I feel that it wouldn't be the best idea to listen to buttholes on my first acid trip

  • @cobyblack

yeh they covered earthquake beautifully. there is a tribute to roky (buttholes did a song called after him too) erikson of the 13th floor elevators called "when the eye meets the pyramid, with contributions from many well known bands including bongwater, buttholes, and even zz-top (one of them was in the early elevators! worth hearing, if a few shallow shit tracks on it, many are very good.

and their are smoother natural ways to trip, see psilocybe cubensis, u only need one to three.

  • @gnowave oh, and if you do try acid, and liten to buttholes, hold on tight to your seat. if you have any holes in your armour you'll fry! chuckle chuckle.

  • @cobyblack when you download, just dont clik on the "noise" songs? they are one of the best psychedelic bands around! and interestingly it is their post 90s "clean" sounding stuff which isnt as psychedelic. but then, they had done the underground rounds, and deserved a bit of radio and tv airplay.

  • this is one of the songs that I go to the bar or take a leak when they play it.

  • @drewzillasaurusrex it is fairly pedestrian for the buttholes for sure.

  • THis is my FAV..........will have this in my head for ages now..... Lucky Me

  • Hey was like second song on side one of thier first album brown reason to live badass lp man those were the days

  • hey was actually from an earlier album from the 80's. developed from a jam that ended up in, i guess, "piough", but i think if i remember right that the "hery" jam first surfaced around, um, psychic powerless? my fave phase of theirs

  • @gnowave theres so much bhs stuff that i don't have... its so hard to find, all I have is electric Larry land and independent worm saloon

  • @mrshnarfles well there is an almost complete discography available on utorrents (shud i be saying that here?) and possibly soulseek too. there 82 to 87 period is classic acid-punk/acid-rock/psychedelia. albums to look for include hairway to steven, psychic powerless another mans sac, tho the two albums u mention are very good, those albums are from when they switched to a more commercial (for them) metally sound, as they had alreay done the rounds with their full blown underground sound.

  • @mrshnarfles incidently if you enjo the buttholes, other acid rock from the time that you may like are shockabilly and bongwater. both feauring kramer, who did some co-opping with buttholes at some point i think, and ran shimmy-disc records, which wa mostly 80s garage-punk infleunced stuff. and shockabilly featuring eugene chadbourne.

  • Lets go to hell!

  • Ya Hey!!!

    don an vin @

    Ballard firehouse ?

    strobes smoke flameing cymbals and

penis reconstruction surgery ring a bell.

    check over best band ever.

  • I have a highschool crush on theresa

  • gotta get me some of their blotter

  • Amo

  • I saw BHS in Seattle right around the Psychic...Powerless... album. They had just finished Wichita Cathedral and the crowd was screaming out requests a la Freebird. I wanted to hear Hey, but what good would it do to shout out "Hey!" in a crowd? I screamed out "Let's go to Hell!" at the top of my lungs and the room fell almost silent for a split second. Then the bass line started up. Sheer awesomeness!

  • What an awesome song! BHS use so many sound effects and distortion in their music, it's easy to forget what a great voice Gibby really has!

  • heroin IS good for the soul, lets go to hell.

  • this is real punk, lets go to hell

  • This is my favourite video on youtube.

  • Man, used to go to Traxx all the time. Well, when we had enough money for gas and a ticket. Thanks for posting!

  • Hey hey...HAYHAYHAY.

  • I love this band like I love my thumbs. I want to hear them everyday in every way

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! I can't believe how YOUNG they all were!! (We all were then... )

Great quality video for the vintage!!

  • This has been officially released on DVD and looks real nice.

  • what is paul leerys side bands name?

  • @btansey3 Carny

  • buttholes were actually weird, so many folks just try to be weird...just to let you shriners know, we can tell....never be another like em...the music was sing songy in some parts, romantica and bleeding and abusted lip all at the same time..lLove...love?

  • I remember seeing Megadeth ("Killing Is My Business.." Tour) and Exodus ("Bonded By Blood" Tour) at Traxx..

  • Did they do drugs? Maybe he's on acid? I mean this guy can't even talk!

  • they did acid and heroin

  • @NERDkingHERE they did acid, mescaline, PCP, weed, tobacco, booze. I think Gibby ended up doing crack for a spell in the 1990s.

  • @pollywarrior who the fuck cares what drugs they did

  • @gajorg69 I don't know, I'm not a fucking mind reader

  • @pollywarrior oh god. or very smart.

  • that so cool how they change their clothes back and forth throughout the song! now that takes skill! lol

  • i just saw them at the commodore and they did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!one of the best shows i ever done seen..

  • Seeing them October 18th at Club Nokia with the Melvins

  • hey he said

  • I'm going to see them in Vancouver in October.

I hope they play this one.

  • the best...

  • One of my favourites of theirs...thanks for the video

  • fascinating

  • I was at this show. I see a few old friends but not myself anywhere. The dual drums are always so good live.

  • DUDE

  • YES!

  • It is impossible to get any better than this.

  • fuckin' awesome!

  • The "Hey" from Locust Abortion Technician is so much better.

  • Isn't that called "Hay"?

  • Yes.

  • yeah & it sucks compared to this

  • Very different songs, really - I don't think there's even much point in comparing the two even if they are both done by the Buttholes.

  • To compare, though, I actually prefer this live version to the studio version.

  • Same with on Butthole Surfers/Live PCPPEP - I prefer the version on Live PCPPEP than on Butthole Surfers.

  • i really like the demo version

  • exactly

  • Love this live version of "Hey" from Blind Eye Sees All DVD, live at Traxx, Detroit, 1985.

  • 4 now!!!!!!

lol. my favorite butthole surfers song maybe... i dunno.

    lol

  • my fave too, no doubt...

  • only 2 comments this is so shity...they are a great band they deserve much more
