I've been thinking of doing this for a while in Milky tracker. Whenever i use a tracker with a lot of features and options, (such as renoise, jeskola buzz etc) i always end out spending too long mastering it instead of just creating more MUSIC. I might try this on the weekend :)
Making chiptunes certainly is a different kind of art than other music. Of course its a music style like any other, but you need to understand the idea behind chiptune music in order to actually make good music. Its not just about making combinations of sound sounding good, but understanding what the limitations were back in the days and try to squeeze as much out of it as possible. This is actually where appregio's come from and the usage of multitone melodies.
