  • Great job!

  • great!

  • whoa.

  • promising young pianist !!

  • beautifully played, but it seems fast to a viennese girl like me. also--what edition was used? i hear some detache arpeggios that i don't have... i think this movement is more improvisatory and sadder than it's often played--nostalgic. and notation is at the service of music, not vice-versa: one man's 'distortion' may be another's deep intuition. i think we all try to hear what the composer says in the context of our experience. thank you for this beautiful recording!

  • Bravo!! Why not take a little time before the Coda passage? It's the final resolution! Don't be in such a hurry to come back to D!

  • If you need the performer to distort the work to enjoy it, you probably don't actually enjoy the music. Beethoven is exciting even when played by a technically inadequate pianist. Certainly this clean and understanding performance is not at all lacking in musicality.

  • Brilliant execution!

  • p.s. a lot of time our conception of how a piece should sound like is actually quite off...esp. if you don't look at the score.

  • Fair enough, but he pretty much plays the sonata as it is written, adds ideas of his own, and seems quite engaged. I don't know what else he can do to "put more heart into it." It doesn't make sense to say his playing is devoid of emotion, unless by emotion you mean more facial expression, more bodily movements, dramatic hand gestures etc. .

  • I'm loving how he falls back on the final chords.

    I do that too.
