about 2 years ago i was 14 and had no idea who meat loaf was, just bat out of hell. Now i have literally 60 some Meatloaf songs on my Ipod. Wish i was alive for that era!
when i asked my mom what this song was called when it came on the radio and she said paradise by the dashboard light and i thought she meant the name of the song was paradise and the name of the band was the dashboard light! lol
Im 14 and I have been listening to the Police sence I was 10. First band/solo singer I liked was Meatloaf. I think todays music is just shit being yelled. It is awful, I don't see how most kids my age listen to it. Music from in between 1955 to 1980 is some of the best music in the world. I wish more people my age understood what they are missing. Thank you to all the people around my age who listen to this!!!! We know REAL music!
@clo758 Comments like this make me sick. I mean I'm 18, and like older music but damn. I dont expect a hero cookie, and a heros medal for listening to it. If your so proud of yourself for listening to it, crank it to the max and piss your neighbors off, or let em love it. For the last part of your comment, I think your a little late for knowing what real music is. It's nothing new, Meatloaf is what our parents grew up on. Now most of us listen to it. Remember though, I ain't being mean.
hey maybe these kids dont get it because they dont screw in cars anymore (face it it was nearly impossible esp with a stick shift) now they would sing, "paradise by the cellphone light" or " paradise 25 bucks per veiw."
song's still the same... oh the htigns we do under the influenceof the sex kool-aid.
When I look up the Top Hits of 1978, this song does not appear. (I also checked 1977). I remember this being a big hit. But somehow it's not in the Top100.

@ONzViiZi What about the old time "Murder Ballards" our parents listened to? - "Banks of the Ohio" "Frankie and Johnny" "Knoxville Girl" "Cocaine Blues" "Stagger Lee" "Tom Dooley" "Hey Joe" to name a few. Songs of killing solders, "Battle of New Orleans" ? We have a history of songs of killing and death.
@ONzViiZi Son, there's an entire generation between us. When I was your age I drove cars with fins on 'em and the people we called our friends were the people we saw every day. Rock has a rythm, a groove, a soul. Rock has the power to make you feel emotions from burning down a town to makin' it with the first girl you saw. I've listened to rap, I hear it everywhere, but it is just missing that 3rd dimension that rock has, depth. A real song is one that can make you feel what the singer feels.
@phantomsyren Them's be fighting words. Rap is a powerful force and a beautiful music form; it is mainstream commercialism that drives rap to the barren disgusting form on the radio. But mainstream isn't the only type of music and there are poets who rap soulfully in the underground, I swear there are. If its not your cup of tea, than avoid dissing the subject just 'cus. And just to make a comment relative to the video, this is one of my favorite songs! :)
@phantomsyren Them's be fighting words. Rap in itself is a beautiful music form it is the mainstream commercialism that has brought it down to the disgusting soul-less garble on the radio. But mainstream isn't the only type of music, there are soulful poets rapping underground, I swear there are. If its not your cup of tea, that's fine, but avoid attacking whole genre's please and peace be with you. And just to make a comment relative to the video, this is one of my favorite songs! :)
@phantomsyren please don't ever say before rap as if rap isn't real music with meaning. There's a lot of soul in all kinds of music. Just because radio doesn't reflect doesn't make it not true. Rap is an art-form. Real music lives today just as it did "before."
@cartoonesque This is 1 of the greatest bands in the whole world learn that rock or reagge are the music styles who are before that rap and other kind of that and fuck it you are 12
@napo105 10/10 troll. Also, this band is good but it's FAR from being one of the best in the world. Led Zep, G'n'R, Pink Floyd. Queen. The Who, The Doors, and it goes on and on.
@cartoonesque THE WHO, HELL YES! Roger and I share the same birthday, if I recall correctly. I wanted to go to one of his concerts a year or two ago when he was having a tour. Would love to meet that man and shake his hand.
I have shaken Andersons' hand from Jethro Tull... well rather his elbow (has arthritis in his hands now) about four years ago at Interlochen [spelled wrong, but it is the greatest art high school in the world by reputation, and its only an hour from me]. THAT made my night.
If my first time had this song in the background, I'd probably ruin the mood by laughing about how perfect it was. Then go on wondering if it wasn't staged.
The Earth will turn too hot by the increasingly luminosity of the sun such as the oceans will boil away in the year 1,000,000,000 AD... if that's the end of time Meat Loaf is praying for.
why do people argue about this song and bohemian rhapsody being better than each other? cant we just enjoy great music and keep our opinions to ourselves for a while?

@napo105 10/10 troll. Also, this band is good but it's FAR from being one of the best in the world. Led Zep, G'n'R, Pink Floyd. Queen. The Who, The Doors, and it goes on and on.

@cartoonesque yeah just what you say but there are some bands beter like ACDC, KISS, Black Sabbath but still look at his reaction!!
