  • A'me Lorain doesn't have the greatest voice I've ever heard, but Britney wishes she had a voice even remotely close to this girl.

  • Time machine does exist, and Britney used it to travel back the 90's to recover some voice...

  • she dose look alot like Britney when she first came out idd also say Debbie Gibson as well

  • remeber your old friend tina ?/

  • I love this video.

I remember back in the early 90's listening to this song. It was one of my favorite songs. I got to meet her at Head & the Heart concert. She told me that she is not staying on the east coast. She's been staying in LA. She has not been doing performances as A'me Lorain. I did ask her if she was on twitter and she said not yet. So that is not her on twitter right now. I hope she puts something out soon. I thik it would be great all her fans. Nice gal.

  • this girl looks like britney! I was in 5th grade when this song came out

  • the early 1990's pre-nirvana and seattle grunge and post-reagan, the part of the 90's where it was okay to be colorful and happy and free to express yourself. wearing loud and gaudy shirts were in . high tops replaced jheri curls baggy jeans made tight pants disappear, songs like this were upbeat and happy. new jack swing, techno, latin freestyle and punk consumed my musical taste and alternative was alternative not gobbled up by 7th avenue and teens desperately trying to be cool

  • What a cutie she is...I had this tape in 9th grade...I see she does like dance music now. Good for her. She sort-of reminds me of Stacy Q, who I loved too!!

    twitter.com/#!/amelorain

  • I just listened to this on SIRIUS/XM a few hours ago! Damn, this track has me dancing.. and did I mention I wasn't even born when this track was released!

  • She's on twitter.

    amelorain

  • at first glance, she kinda looks like britney spears!! i always liked this song.

  • Does anyone else notice the similarity of this song to Dino's I LIKE IT?? Also, didn't Amy have an actual song called True Love also?

  • @MrChicago891 Yeah and the Dino's song is nice too but I think this is pop dance, dino is swing or am I wrong?

  • Hell! I remember watching this on Mickey Mouse Club! (LOL)

  • what a memories!! one of the best dance songs of the 90's!!!! I like the beat so danceable & she looks so beautiful in this video!! just amazing!!!

  • Such a classic.

  • This was a top ten billboard hit!! I remember this song from the guy who says whatya tell em real quick. Hadn't heard this in forever.

  • Amazing song, amazing look, too bad(no career, no nothing), wow

  • She looks like Britney Spears! Now imagine if she came up with Britney's type of music in her career, she would be popular!

  • Now this is what the '80s were all about! (even though it was 1990). A'me's got classic '80s hair, shoulder pads, a crazy whacked out video and backed by four gay dancer dudes. Classic!

  • The whistling guy..."GOT ANY CHANGE?"

    XD

  • I'm still looking through that unique blue tube.

  • wow, i love this song...& she is sooooo, so pretty too...

  • Laura Palmer!

  • shes like debbie gibson!!

  • OMG! I still have the single cassette for this song! I LOVE IT!!!!

  • @JoviMoon me too!! it had like 4 versions of it that were remixes.. way cool. thought I was the only one who still had this :)

  • @RetroGirl85 That's funny...i always thought the same thing. Keep jammin!! LoL!

  • This is the Jam!!!! I love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for posting. I love this song very much! :p

  • The best cd I ever owned! Still my favorites, as a songwriter / musician, I had the biggest crush on her and she is not a 1 hit wonder. I wished she put out another cd

  • Those are some nails

  • seriously gay!

  • i have to do a performance of this song in october and cant find cant find the lyrics to it any where!! HELP PLZZ

  • WTF is this???

  • Wonder if she still feels the same now about her love.

  • Hey, where is this chick now? I feel like I didn't pay enough attention on her by that time. I wouldn't be amazed if I know about some manager connection with B Spears (cheaper and voiceless, of course). Lorain looks hotter and some producers lost a jewel then.

  • had forgotten about this version of this video (i have a different one uploaded on myspace) - ah... memories... i remember in 5th grade music class - we had to air-guitar / lip synch to a song - me and my friends lori and leo did this song lol

  • I think i heard this in the Philippines before back in the 90's

  • WHOA!!!

I totally forgot about this song...thanks for posting this up!!!

  • there was an awesome version with a piano riff.. way better than this one

  • I just heard this on the radio yesterday at a family gathering and everybody laughed at me because I still knew all the words and was singing VERY LOUD and dancing as if it was my first time hearing it! I was only 11 when this came out, but it's still one of my favs!!!!!

  • the first time I heared this song was in american top 40......and still love it so muchhh....this girl was so cool with this video

  • I LOVED this song and I LOVED the whole album. I wore out my cassette tape. I really wish she would have done more.

I remember a part with animals talking..something about "Louie has a thumb, it was as big as a banana, and he went to Louisiana?" Anyone know what I am talking about?

  • Hi i am joshua funk and i will never offer to give people my aunts where abouts over the fucking internet again.

    Sound Effect: Wherrrrrrrnnntchtt

  • Holy Shit! This was and still is one of my fav songs. I been looking for it for over 13 years cuz i forgot what it was called..LOL Thx for posting it !!!

  • Wow i remember going to the water park as a kid...this was always on!! YaY!

  • this is talent and beauty and class.

  • Wow, try to hear this on any retro-program!!!! Only on YouTube, folks!!!! Thanks sooooo much for posting this. Didn't she also have a song called "True Love"?

  • much better then britney spears!!

  • I LOVE THIS

  • Wow....! definitely old school!

  • OMG...the first time I saw this video was when I would watch Daisy Fuentes on the Spanish MTV as a VJ.....LOL

  • I have been looking for this song and the artist who sang it for years!!! Thank you so much!! This use to be my jam in highschool!!

  • holy fuck this video is scary as fuck

  • LOL

  • I actually wore out my old cassette single of this, listening to it constantly! lol

  • This has always been one of my favorite songs. I was in love with a man when that song came out. We broke up, then, and now we are back together almost 20 years later.

  • She looks and sounds like Britney Spears. But in this video she looks like Hannah Montana.

  • The album isn't really all that bad, they had another song on there (can't recall the title) that still can be a hugh hit today. I love this song, now a days music all sounds the same. Granted bubblegum pop was cheesy, but it was really carefree & everyone loved it. (well at least everyone did) Like I said, now a days sum singers just sample others older music & sum people think it new & fresh. BUT IT"S NOT! Take the 90's for what it was, just FUN!

  • its no cheesier than a lot of the music of today. I think this and a lot of music of its time was better than a lot of the music today

  • @tanrat7 I agree this song may have had a cheesy beat and set of lyrics but this kinda is so better than the crap that's on the radio today such as Soulja Boy!!!!

  • @PopCulture20 but back in 1990 when it was released it did not seem cheesy at all and brings back such memories :)

  • Now you can see why this group is gone and forgotten.

  • She reminds me of Tiffany and Debbie Gibson

    - and they are far from forgotten. Anyway I liked this song back in 1990, and still do. I never understood why it only charted at 95 for that year..... maybe because people were too busy listening to MC Hammer and Snap.

  • tiffany and debbie gibson are pretty much forgotten.

  • @harleykman yeah they are on movies on the SciFi channel

  • Awesome song! If it were remixed with a more modern beat (sound) it could be re-released and I believe it would chart even better than it did in 1990. It's a shame that's the only song that made it for A'Me Lorain.

    DJ Drew Philly

  • FEH! A'Me was just a cross between Stacey Q and Debbie Gibson, and a sheer rip-off of Stacey Q's style.

Face the truth. A copy of a copy is very low quality, meant to eventually be thrown out!

  • omg.. this is hillarious for me to watch... cause A'me is a friend of mine, and i havent seen her music video before. I LOVE IT!

  • High school memories!

  • omg i love this song lol

aw i miss the 90's lol

  • i'm a 20 year old who loves early 90s music!!!!!!! this track was on a ''90s Pop Hits'' album collection that my dad had brought me when i was 18 cause he knew i was obsessed with nostalgic music

  • omg i love this song lol

  • rednop44 u wouldnt know class if it hit u!

  • yer mom bitch!

  • A'me Lorain wrote all of her own songs on that album, most of them were considered too odd to be considered mainstream enough for the "mindless pop" appeal Also, she was clearly into that edgy psychedelia-meets-high fashion thing in the early 90s. Sort of in the same vein as Deee-Lite

So besides from vague vocal and physical similarities, how in the world is she like Britney Spears?!? Just look at her debut album cover's title and layout - nothing could be less "Britney"

  • Actually I think Britney (in 1998) looked like A'me.

  • A better comparison, given the year was 1990, is Debbie Gibson.

A'me style in this video looks a lot like Debbie in her videos.

  • A'me has more talent than Britney would ever dream of!

  • This is an oldie but goodie for me...I always loved the lyrics. Great love song

  • Ironically, three years later True Love star Annabella Sciorra would star in a film called "Whispers in the Dark". I guess they WOULD do after all!

  • this is my all time favorite!!! thx for uploading the video. i had the song in my iphone since last year...now the video. thx again.

  • If you seek amy !!!, she looks like britney! xDD

  • I never had the chance to see this video, didin't even know what A'me looked like. This brings back so many memories mostly from highschool, thanks for sharing this.

  • Britney Spears! What the hell is up with the old woman in the video?

  • I've loved this song ever since I heard it on Casey's Top 40 back in 1990. I never saw the video until this post on Youtube. Thanks for sharing!

I wish A'me came out with more songs back in her prime. The 80s clothing, however, should have stayed in the decade.

  • I have been obsessed with this song since I heard it back in 1990. Thank you soooo much for having it on here!!!!

  • @strapper72 Are you a guy or girl?

  • I love this song! It brings back many memories for me. Some good, but mostly bad. I'm 36 Years old now and am a Male. Any females want to tell me what they think of this song and how they really feel about it. Let me know?

  • This got a lot of airplay in 1990. I was still working on a college radio station at the time. Loved it then and now!

  • Britney Spears stole her look 9 years later, lol.

  • Wow! I had the cassette single back in the day and have a lot of memories associated with this song, but I had never seen the video until now.

  • OMG!! I heard this Ion SIRIUS it is pretty cool, but don't ever remember hearing it. Guess I was to wrapped up in to NKOTB to notice.

  • Haha I heard it on Sirius the other night and immediately looked it up.

    I like it.

  • I did too!! Had to see who she was.

  • I don't care how losery it sounds, I wrote the name of the song and artist on my hand and just had to look it up. I'm glad I did.

  • Oh my GOD! This was one of my faves back in the day. Love it!

  • 1990 classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
