I what to know what took the cops so long to get there and she called them What a dum ass town if any is going to brake in your home you have the right to protect yourself and your loveones and it you have to kill you kill. There is an old Korean Proverb: The law is far, the fist is near. She did what she had to do. As a new dad myself I felt sad to hear her husband died on Christmas day. I would never want to die on a holiday and make it a tragic day for my family. Nor would I want to die and leave my family vulnerable to murderous scum. @SilentEagles How can you blame the cops for not being able to be there immediately? It's not as if it's a personal problem with each police officer, it's a matter of logistics and simple math. They're NOT going to already be at the scene of a crime BEFORE it happens, so they naturally won't be there until

1. Someone calls 911

2. An operator finds the closest officer

3. That officer is able to get through traffic, etc. to the scene

She definitely knew that guy. Call it maternal instinct on her part if that makes you feel better. Cool as a cucumber; gave the baby the bottle...got the ok from the police- BANG! That guy wasn't breaking in for any drug store meds either (how would he know they were there?). Let's see if the guy's companion comes clean about the truth. I GUARANTEE you she knows that guy and what he was there for. DEFINITELY knows him.

@tjbollman1 A news report I just read today says the two men knew her husband had just recently died of cancer, and were planning on breaking in because they had hoped she would still have all his medications still in the home... how pathetic is that? But I'm sure at least the man who died had more than one motive, he brought gloves and a huge knife with him... who knows what he was planning to do to her and/or her baby.

This women is Amazing!! God Bless her and her little baby!! She is a hero, her clearheaded thinking and action prevented a great tragedy from happening, kudos to the 911 operator too, because she could not legally tell her to shoot or not, but she did remind the situation by saying, you do what you have to do to protect your baby, helping the mother to see she must Act because a defenseless is depending on her. This is a good result as you can get from such a situation, She is a true hero!!
