@jap989 there isnt and has never been a sole supplier of f1 engines. honda had success in f1 in the 80s when mclaren used honda engines but in 2008 after being nothing short of terrible honda pulled out of f1 completely. today ferrari, renault, cosworth, and mercedes all produce engines for f1.

If you had the slightest clue, you wouldn't take that so literally. Torque, BY ITSELF is MEANINGLESS. Horsepower is an expression of torque and throttle input. Hp is the goal.

@2jzgtejza80 naw, Hill climb is point A to B....how long it lasts depends on how fast the driver is, the chassis of the car (the more speed you can keep on the corners translates to better acceleration on the straights), and the power delivery of the car (peakier engines having an advantage, but broader gear ratios being more important). But....hill climb events aren't the only form of racing that take place in the mountains, in fact I've competed in a number of rallies, no legal hill climbs tho

@jap989 there isnt and has never been a sole supplier of f1 engines. honda had success in f1 in the 80s when mclaren used honda engines but in 2008 after being nothing short of terrible honda pulled out of f1 completely. today ferrari, renault, cosworth, and mercedes all produce engines for f1.

I used to rally race with a 1990 Civic Si (102lbft), and won two regional rally championships with it, don't knock the Honda's, they make brilliant race cars when set up right (this only applies to EF, EG, EK, and 2008+ models). If you had the slightest clue, you wouldn't take that so literally. Torque, BY ITSELF is MEANINGLESS. Horsepower is an expression of torque and throttle input. Hp is the goal.

But....hill climb events aren't the only form of racing that take place in the mountains, in fact I've competed in a number of rallies, no legal hill climbs tho

@xenoo4life my motor wen't there on completely stock when i first got my car and wanted to dyno it before i did a full turbo build.. like i said i think it wen't alot higher because i ended up bending every valve in that fucker.. now it's revving @ 11,000 by itself fully built and boosted making 733 whp and 747 trq. @ 8200 rpm. on 17 psi and race fuel.. i'll post videos if you like.

They're also tremendously oversquare, have a huge rod to stroke ratio and they are overlapped and valved for high RPM effective range.
