This is IMO probably the best use of computers since their invention and Humanity as a species is making something altruistic for itself for a change. I feel happy/honored for being part of WCG and that we're united to fight diseases and not each other, doing something directly to accelerate disease research like never before for us and future generations; compensating somewhat the damage we're doing to our biosphere. Maybe some day we could research to fix that too.

@TumisHumis Wrong, that's because how the current monetary system works, it creates deficit & debt to exist, devaluating itself, so in order to survive it creates more deficit & debt is a self destructive long-term mechanism that need to be changed. Altruism is what is helping many people improve their quality of life and is spare money, not necessity money what is given.

Great job guys, you're slowing down the human race! Try reading a book instead of looking at a hambeast on youtube for social and political ideas. As for the idiot trying to find a cure for cancer, that's not going to happen. You can treat cancer, but you can't prevent or "Cure" mutated cells from dividing. Giving money and time to people (Treating) cancer is a nobel cause, but looking for the (Cure) is like trying to build a time machine. Work for yourself and you'll help a lot more people

@ClamCrunchy There is some VERY BASIC science to answer that question. It's like "Curing" Austim, you deal with it as best you can. Even if (hypothetically) we "Cured" Cancer/AIDs, it wouldn't be available to the afflicted, or even the next generation. Treatments, not cures are the place you should throw your pity money if you *really* want to help.

@TumisHumis A cure to AIDS is within the realm of the possible, and if a vaccine or drug were found that cured the disease, it would be available to at least some fraction of people with AIDS. Anti-AIDS drugs have come a tremendous way since the early 1980s. A cure to cancer or AIDS wont come quickly or cheaply, but in the next 30, 40, 50 years, it's a real possibility.

The protein synthesis research is what lead us to understand DNA & the proteins folding which can help us device the drugs that will correct the mutant cancerous cells and viruses. The DNA does some checksum correction when certain non-DNA-authorized mutations occurs, so we'll go a step further to correct what DNA can't. As people say here many incredible things can be done when we use our brain, things that were "impossible" before; check how many YEARS...

What you suggest are patches not solutions, patches are OK WHILE solutions come, so instead of complaining and be a pessimist why don't you join and help out?
