Pichu was my best character in Melee. I started out using him as a joke but then i some how mastered him and became a "pro". Even though his presence was redundant and he does damage to himself i still managed to dominate. I miss you pichu  D:

Maybe in a few years or so A.I. will be at the level where playing against the machine is actually challenging. I feel like it should be possible by using a machine learning approach or something.

Pichu is stronger than Pikachu on Melee. I believe the reason was that Pichu can't control it's power as well so it shoots out bursts of electricity. Unfortunately, because it can't control it, Pichu gets hurt in the process.

In other words, Pichu has stronger attacks but the programmers had to give it something worse, so they made it where it hurts itself when using electric attacks.

This is even easier in smash 64, the comps will try to get to the clouds, get stopped by the "invisible forcefield", and suicide. Well, they'll try to recover, but cpu Yoshis will use up the recovery jump and won't be able to get back.
