Thank you for this! I have made two bracelets following your video today. I used double-ply the cord and I now have a 25ft-cord bracelet. I can't even imagine learning cobra weave for this purpose. Takes way too long. This is genius and efficient. Thank you for this video! :)
AWESOME! Thank you so much for this video! I am on a K9 Search & Rescue team and plan to add this to my pack! Great work on the video creation as well. It is very concise and understandable. You have some beautiful knots as well on your website! Thanks again!
Yes ... quick is best. I grew up in Alaska and live in MN ... if you are in a situation where you need to unravel your para cord you don't want to spend a half hour doing it. In cold climates, time may cost you your life. I think all of the beautiful knots are awesome and will attempt some of them, but for my various survival kits, lanyards on axe/knife handles ... quick is good!
This has got to be the best paracord bracelet have ever seen. One piece, secure but easy to open out and holds a lot of cord. I like how you hold occasionally so it makes it easy for us to see what you're doing.
Very well done and nice work. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
Just completed one of these bad boys :). It took a few tries for me to get it tight enough so I didn't have huge gaps. That's probably the hardest part: making sure you tighten it at every single step. Thanks for the vid :D
Great Vid!!! First Time Paracord Bracletier here watched it and paused it several times learn it and struggled at time but once I got "it" it just clicked! used #550 BTW
Thanks for this - I just used a survival bracelet (a gift) to fix my car when the bumper more or less fell off in the middle of nowhere. It was a cobra weave, and it took me a good 15 minutes to undo it- my fingers still hurt! I'll be making one of these to replace it for sure!
Do you measure the cord and cut it, starting this in the middle? I am a bit confused on how to begin and to know I have enough cord or where along the cord to begin. Thanks!
wow thanks! I was looking for a braid which is easy and fast to take apart because I don't want to take a few minutes un-tying one. I had found one that was similiar to this one which I guess is called a chain sinnet braclet from this guy= /watch?v=sGklOhpBMKA.
I am having so much trouble with this one. It comes out a lot different than what the one in the video looks like, but I am following the instructions to the letter (figuratively speaking of course.) Will this knot be featured in your new paracord book?
thank you so much. I just finished one of these bad boys after about 2.5 hours. Not bad for a first. Im sure they'll be much quicker now that ive messed around with it for a bit. My only problem was i didnt watch the video in full before I started (stupid me). So I ended up with a fairly large loop for the knot to catch. ill try soaking it tomorrow to shrink it, and then i should be all good. Look forward to more of your videos. thanks again
I've always seen these in catalogs but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay someone to make a useful tool just because I don't know how to tie a knot so I really appreciate the instructional. I forgot how much I enjoyed playing with ropes as well as how much I had forgotten about playing with ropes until my wife decided that I should learn again. I enjoy the fun ones and she enjoys the FUN ones. Thanks from both of us!
My motivation for using these as my "emergency rope" is that in a real emergency I don't want to have to work to get my rope out, and if there are people waiting on my "crazy" solution to a problem I don't want anyone getting impatient. : )
"Emergency" use and "Survival" use I think are two different sides of the same coin. "Emergency" use implies that an item can be used in a split second or "right now" scenario. "Survival" speaks to those who are in a situation where they are forced to use what is around them in order to "survive and maintain" their lives until they can receive help. If you found yourself, say lost in the desert or a forest, then you would be able to use paracord items to help you, which, is better than nothing.
Very interesting variant of your everyday paracord bracelet. Don't suppose you could do a video showing how to do it with a side-release nexus buckle or similar?
Thanks for posting this! I started making paracord bracelets by trying the simple cobra weave, but when I realized it took a good amount of time to unravel, I sought out a different style. It didn't take me long to get this one right, and I love the fact that it unravels super quick. I don't understand how people can call the cobra a "survival bracelet" when it takes 1-5 minutes to take it apart. (lol) Thanks again, great tutorial.
Damn. I gotta take my hat off to you brother. You are a true master of your craft. You make it look so easy but yet take the time knowing that we are no where near your level. I was in the U.S. Army for almost seven years, we use 550 cord in everything we do out in the field, but you make art outta it. Spot on! Keep um coming bro.
I love watching you tie these knots. My son and I are going to start learning them together just as soon as I find some of the type of cording you use. I live in a no where, secluded town with only a wal mart and a couple dollar stores. Also a couple sporting good stores...would any of those types of store likely cary it or is it very specialized? Thanks
@deettle - You could find paracord in a hardware store, a hunting store, a camping store or an army surplus store. Or. online via Amazon or VTArmyNavy(dot)com.
I've seen this knot before and I have this sinet attatched to the seat pulls in my truck to pull them down easily. I got to use them last summer when I went to pick up a wood stove for a friend and forgot to bring tie downs! There was a Wal-Mart 3 miles down the road so I ripped the sinnets down and used them to secure the stove until we got to Wal Mart and purchased an actual tie-down ratchet style strap. That sure beat having to unload it, run to wally world and then come back and reload it
@FreeKwinsie cheaperthandirt(dot)com u can get 500 feet for $20 or 1000 feet for $40, i'm pretty sure those are the lengths, it won't be every color, but there are a few options, check it out if u want
Thanks JD this will be a very useful piece of kit if I'm out walking and my boot lace breaks - I'm in the UK so it'll probably be raining - so something I can easily and quickly untie is a fantastic idea!!
Love watching your vids. You show what you're doing very well and the pace of your steps is perfect! It amazes me how you have learned all of these different knots. I've come to realize it seems the techniques in many ways are similar to weaving.
@NguyenIsBored - I posted the Bush Bar video on November 03, 2010. Check my video gallery for it. I also showed how to tie the Two Color Bush Bar, in my "How I Make my Videos" video.
@windyhillpatriot - The best sling/quick paracord relase strap I can think of is the "Slatt's Rescue Belt" I made a video showing how to tie it in early 2010 - Check out my video gallery or visit my website fusionknots(dot)com for a link and/or download.
@mikeblan789 I made a few Slatts Belts using nylon and cotton washline and plastic quick release buckles. I wear one to work everyday because they have metal detectors we go through to enter and exit the facility. This provides me with one less article of clothing I have to remove for security! After some practice I've found that creating the weave more loosely results in less of the "curve" or "angle" that results from weaving it too tightly.
@TheHeavyMetalJavi Military surplus stores and stores that sell paint gunning equipment sell it too. The latter usually is a good choice because along with the paint guns, those guys love anything remotely "tactical". You will probably be limited to military like colors. Black, OD, Desert sand, ACU etc. Pink & blue. Not so much.
@WiltonAdrianoNeto Good try ... I guess you get to join the group of idiots that think posting First is more important that any comment to the person who created the video.

It seems solomon weave bracelet that are worn for a long time are rather difficult to untie, so I guess this one is a better option.
The Genoese one can be untied easily too, if it's made a little loose, in a way that allow to pull and remove the 2 strings that make the "core".
Great video (as always :) )
