That was the first time I felt that surge of pride, from being in a well trained group that could do something no one person could accomplish alone.
One thing I noticed that was different in the Gun's Crew was the way they were marching; we used to have to march with our upper legs coming up parallel to the ground and pointing our toes down. It made us look like horses prancing and looked very good.
Those days were the best days of my teenage years. Great times.
We used to do the Ceremony of the Flags and the Sunset Ceremony back in the early 1970's, at the Sea Cadet Camp, HMCS Cornwallis, NS. I think our Training Officer's name was Maj. Allinski or Alinsky. He was tough but good.
I remember being on ome of the Gun's Crews and practicing so much our knees would be bleeding from kneeling on the pavement. We ended up cutting the toes out of our grey, wool, socks and using two of them as a knee pad under our pants.
haha i love how at acadia the senior band is all like oh ontario's band might be big and good but they play easy songs and such. i'm like umm no actually ontario band is WAY better than acadias band. They are way bigger and yet can still play together, and better then acadia's band.. I love acadia more then ontario. but i'm all for ontario's band lol
I agree. Judging from this video and the videos I put up from Acadia, they're quite close. Ontario simply has more people in their band giving them a bigger sound. I think it was On the Quarter Deck they played here? An Alford march, right? Acadia played several of those too. So I'd say they're both pretty close, at least this year.
oh there is a mistake on your description on the second song it says heat of oak its Heart of Oak

I recognised Heart of Oak and On the quarter Deck. Not sure if there was anything else in there.
