What would you recommend then?

I have an ipod already, don’t want ipod,thought about getting the shuffle; but no screen. I want something drag and drop to player unlike itunes.

I just need 1gb or 2 for songs, something not too ugly even at low cost. :)

hello i have one of those and my touch sreen doesnt work...when i first got it i didnt knoe it had a pin on the side but now i knoe and when i touch the screen it doesnt work at all and i got it for christmas so i dont have the recit but i have the 2nd one they bought me because the first one they bought me didnt work...so they bought another one but it doesnt work...do u knoe anything i can do...

dont buiy ths piece of shit, my sister bough it, i told her not to, you cant even play videos on this it keeps freezing , and the touch screen doesnt even work you need to click it like 4 times. the converter doesnt work for shit, if you want an mp3 just get one that doesnt have a touch screen just get something standard

just bought one today,you can create a playlist on you media player and then sync it on the device, and whatever you named your playlist, it will be on there.

Respectfully Tech101, I believe they are looking for a decent performing video/MP3 player that is in the (real world) 20 to 40 dollar range (and don't want to get ripped by the fake memory Chinese MP4 players and the like.) By all means a high end player is superior but not in everyone's capabilities right now. Given this, these Sylvania's aren't bad...

I think one of the main things that you failed to mention was the quality of the battery - does it need a recharge every 3 hours'!

it depends on the media you are playing, i have got a few hours out of it before needing a recharge

Recomended for advanced users though...

We have 2 of these, one was bought used on eBay for 20 bucks, and one was bought new for 25. We are extremely pleased! They beat the low end Windows media players as they do not have hacked memory! We were looking for cheap and these fit the bill for us. For those looking for a higher end player, by all means go for it. (If you need the software or manual for these and can't find them on-line drop us a note.) Thanks

Our first post was dropped, sorry. As with most Polymer Lithium batteries if you let it TOTALLY run down, then charge to full then repeat a number of times, this unit will do 8 hours of continuous play. (Most people don't do this and recharge after a couple of hours and then continue to top it off, which would give poor performance.)

i believe it is 16g but i could be wrong, there is software to put media on it but it is easier just to drag and drop it

It uses AVI converter 3.0 (you should be able to find this for free on-line,) standard AVIs don't seem to work but every file we have renderded worked fine!

It is drag and drop using Windows Explorer only.

I have tried to emphasize the fact that this is in no way an iPod substitute, it is merely a cheap alternative that doesnt include a lot of the perks of an iPod, if u have the money for a touch then get it, this is a cheap POS for people like me that just want to play music and thats it

Obviously this doesn't have a bult-in digicam in the phone so what is the 'pics' folder for? Sorry not too familiar with iPhone and touchpad things. Is there an FM radio too?

its not a phone, did you watch the whole vid? it is pretty much just a flash drive that you can view what you have on it, so if you put pictures on it they would go in the......drum roll please....PICTURE FOLDER! no radio, its cheap

it does not have an fm radio, at least this version. There may possible be a newer edition that has a tuner in it.
