Everyone should read this book, or at least see the movie. I've just begun to write an independent script for a less dated version out of boredom. This is still a great movie, though.
Also, around 20:00, I gasped with glee when I realized that the English teacher was also Cheswick from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" :D
It's only a movie @stupidmofucker and nudity sells more tickets at the box office, at least it did before the movie theaters became a dying business like it is today.
A lot of people dont mind seeing Sissy Spacek naked @stupidmofucker & this film was done by director Brian De Palma who also directed DRESSED TO KILL & BODY DOUBLE.
Because it sells more tickets at the box office @BobetteLambert, especially back then in the 70's when a lot more people went to the movies as opposed to now since the movie theatres are pretty much a dying business now.
probably @MagiksDream, because my wife has told me that she's seen her girlfriends naked in the girls lockerroom & in the showers at the high school where she & her closest friends went to school with that she also had PE with.
Yup! And that bitch Chris(Nancy Allen)deserved it big time since she got a taste of her own medicine & got put in her place for the time being. It's too bad teachers cant do that nowadays with kids being out of control in todays society.
Ditto @Dale747474! All those people in the gymnasium at Carries high school prom got what they deserved, Carrie was getting her sweet revenge, & justice was finally being served. It's just such a shame that everybody had to pick on Carrie & couldn't be her friend.
@100572a Ya, today's society talks too much. Carrie, she had as pure of a heart as a person can have and if she had enough, and she felt like killing all of those people, I can't say that she was wrong to do so. Almost 300,000 people die every day. This is only 150 bad people that made the Earth a lesser place. Fuck 'em. If someone needs to die today, the death of bad people is a blessing to the rest of us.
Yep, you've got that one right @Dale747474, especially since there's more than enough rotten cold blooded people in this world as it is and we're overcrowded with these bad apples too.
@100572a That's why it's important to learn to stand up for yourself at a young age. Even if you lose, they learn quickly that you can hurt them too. Better to learn that when you're young because when you get old, fighting starts to hurt and you go to jail sometimes. Also, the tactics become more consequential and dangerous. Carrie took too much crap for too long, and that's what happens.
Yep! But that's why we've got that old expression "What Goes Around Comes Around", which means what you do to people is what you'll get back in return one way or another.
I love this movie too@PlushieMutant! In fact this is my favorite flick with Sissy Spacek & Nancy Allen too & I dont think Nancy Allen ever looked better than she did in CARRIE either, despite the fact that Nancy plays major snotty troublemaking bitch in this horror flick.
the Carrie house WAS in my town. until it got torn down. my old grade school teacher used to own it. she decided to tear it down since kids always broke into it and, vandalized it. i live in Santa Paula,California. the house Used to be on 7th street. now its just an empty field gated off. i know the house Next to it is still standing!!, you can see a piece of that in the movie if anyone cares.
Gotcha @tromeoandjuliet! Very interesting, but by the looks of this movie I had figured it was more than likely filmed in the LA Area since every other movie takes place in the LA Area since LA is the movie capital of the world & Hollywood is home of the stars.
100572a ""One location that was used was on the corner of Santa Paula Street and 6th street. It's in the beginning of the movie where Brian DePalma's kid is teasing Carrie on his bicycle."
100572a if you buy the special edition DVD of Carrie they mention Santa Paula as where the house is located in the features. but yes the Rest of the movie was filmed in the L.a area in a studio, and other places.
I remember them mentioning on my CARRIE DVD on one of the bonus features that some of this movie was filmed in the LA Area, I just didn't recall them saying that Carrie White's house was filmed in Santa Paula though. Brian De Palma had also mentioned in the bonus feature how tough it was getting the lady co-stars to prance around buck-naked in the girls lockerroom scene at the beginning of this film & how some of them were good troopers about it & how some even balked out & cried about it too.
100572a yes it is mentioned in the featurette "visualizing carrie" on the "special edition dvd". the house the exterior at least being found in santa paula. Also when tommy comes to ask to her to the prom. that was filmed here in town on 7th st.
Interesting, I would've figured most of this horror flick was filmed in the LA Area, especially all the scenes at the high school since it looked kind of smoggy in some of the exterior scenes in this movie.
The scene at the beginning of CARRIE reminds me a little bit of PORKYS when Pee Wee & his pals ease-drop in the girls lockerroom watching the cute gals taking a shower in full-frontal nudity showing lots of bush & tatas.
My English teacher had our class go to the library to get a reading book, and I picked this one up, and finished it in two days. Let's see how good the movie is.
Probably @deionc, but as far as I'm concern women dont make such a big deal about being buck naked in front of other ladies, just guys seem to make a big deal about seeing each other nude. In fact girls dont even get cursed or slandered if they even tell people they've seen their friends or relatives naked since girls can get away with being nude around other women but not guys which is one advantage women have over men.
The one thing I found odd about this movie is why did Norma have her cap on in every scene even at the prom with the exception of PJ Soles nude scene in the girls lockerroom showers which makes absolutley no sense at all.
Nor do I think so to this very day although more women seem to shave their twats nowadays for some reason I guess to make their coochie less itchy or hot or something since women sweat alot on their cunt sometimes too.
Whatta mean not cool, hairy pussies are very cool, especially when it includes nude scenes with girls running around buck naked in full frontal nudity kind of like Nastajja Kinski did in CAT PEOPLE for instance.
Probably not when it comes to showbusiness especially since Sissy Spacek & Nancy Allen werent even teenagers anymore when they filmed this movie even though Sissy & Nancy were in their 20s playing teenage high school girls for this flick, including the lockerroom scene where Sissy, Nancy, PJ & half the other girls in the girls gym were shown buck naked as the day they were born.
Not all these chicks in the girls lockerroom prancing around naked are skinny, like Nancy Allen & PJ Soles for instance have plenty of meat on their bones with good sized tatas & sexy coochies.
Nor do I think women are now either, because many guys still walk around nude in a Mens lockerroom while changing and/or showering, so I dont think its any different for women in a ladies lockerroom these days either since gals dont make such a big deal about other ladies seeing each other naked unlike guys.
I'm a 16 year old girl. When I change for gym, somebody might be in their underwear, but nobody gets naked, and certainly nobody showers. Most of the girls in there (including me) just come to gym prepared that day and don't even change
Hmm! That's strange, because my wife said she used to change & shower with some of her girlfriends that she went to high school with years ago in the girls lockerroom, but its possible times have changed between now and the 1970s, but typically ladies dont make such a big deal about seeing each other naked or changing and/or showering nude in front of each other either as opposed to guys.
I'm sure some gals still walk around nude in a ladies lockerroom while changing & showering to this very day just like guys still do in a boys lockerroom & Mens lockerroom while changing or showering, so I dont think it makes any difference today for the ladies since ladies dont make such a big deal about seeing other women naked.
Yep! I'm just surprised they didn't show Sissy Spaceks coochie when she was shown buck naked taking a shower in the girls gym even though they showed most of her other female co-stars tits & cunts, including Nancy Allen & PJ Soles.
Yup! Because Nancy Allen & Betty Buckley had to rehearse that slapping scene in actuality over & over again many times with real force in order to make that slap scene convincing to viewers which gave Nancy a sore face afterwhile from being slapped so many times until they finally got the slap scene right.
The girls lockerroom scene that you see here is the reason why they had to edit and revise that scene on regular TV and cable TV with CARRIEs alternate lockeroom scene that was shown on AMC, CBS, A&E, SCI-FI Channel, etc. since it was obviously too sexy and too nasty to show us, but you can also view CARRIEs Alternate lockerroom scene on YouTube too. This original girls lockerroom scene is the same exact way it was shown on HBO & in the movie theaters back in 1976. Boy CARRIE was an awesome film
I love this movie CARRIE and the girls lockerroom scene with all those naked girls prancing around in full frontal nudity is very astonishing and genuine along with the fact that movies rarely start out like this, but this goes to show you how director(Brian De Palma)loves his nudity in his movies like CARRIE & DRESSED TO KILL for instance which both start out with offensive and awesome nude scenes. Nancy Allen I think is the sexiest, especially in her nude scenes, especially in CARRIE.
Why can't teachers slap little bitches around anymore? Nah, joking...
Just think, though, if most kids who were in Carrie's positons had them kind of powers... There'd be death all around schools everywhere... Would there even be school? Hrm....
EEEKKK i love this movie! thank you for uploading it :) i feel so bad for carrie :( she did nothing and they picked on her for no reason :'( and then she has to deal with her crazy mom! she never really had a good life....:'( if i were there with her i would be her best friend and not be mean to her at all :) <3 rite now watching this movie i feel like just giving her a big hug and telling her everything with be ok <3 :)....
@AMERICAN0ZERO Carrie isn't psychotic, she's just misunderstood. Nobody ever got to know the real her. Had those girls not been cruel to her perhaps it would have been better. Carrie even mentions it later on the movie, she wants to be normal and be apart of things.
Carrie is the most hurt one ... Her mother is a religious spychic who treats her badly with her physical attacks for no reason. Those bitches even laugh at her when she is humiliated in front of the crowd. I've been through that nightmare (humiliation) so I developed my sympathy to her at the beginning. Even though what she did was not right, I think she deserved the welcoming environment from everyone with love and respect. Thus, disaster would never happen.
yes Piper Laurie (carrie's mom) told Brian Depalma (the director) that she wanted the death scene to play out like a final orgasm, so he let her do it that way.
it was so said.and they girl that tryed to help her she was nice and the blond boy he was nice to her at the prom.and she was really pretty like beutiful i hated the mother do.and the blod nitch.the one that planned eveerything.......i wanted to kill her.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
ok no. this movie is just ahuge nono. i mean lik WTF this is so different from the actual book. the story is suppose to be gory, surprising, violent, funny, crazy, and alittle dramatic. but this piece of S#1T is just lik SUPER dramatic. and SUPER sad. they miss so many parts lik the rains of rocks. this movie just sucks.
THIS IS SO SAD because carrie in my opinion is pretty IN THIS MOVIE and everybody is mean to her like when she was asking her mom if she could go to prom her mom throwed the drink on her face that was sad and at the end when her mom stabs her in the back
Oh Dear God!!!!!!!!!! the end scared me so freaking bad, I am so jitery. And I dont scare easily its just it caught me off gaurd. That was probably the best horror movie ive seen so far, usually they don't suprise me they r just all the same, but I wasn't expecting it this time. It was all sad, and like kinda calming, then all the sudden. BANG a hand pops up. I jumped.
That Tommy is going to burn...along with the rest of those bastards...IN HELL...and I used that in a biblical way...although I may not act biblical....:(
did Tommy fall in love with Carrie in the book and did tommy's girlfriend help make fun of Carrie lol sorry i really wan to read the book so bad i just haven't got around to finding it
some are, not all, just like my mom, i love my mom, but i hate another Christians that are way to off, or somebody try to be one, like my BF's fucking mother, she thinks god is ganna save her only becuz she goes to church or listen on those TV's of home church, thats not a real christain, she thinks we have to pray at church only, no, is not true, u could pray anywhere bcuz god is always with u. not all, not all Christians are crazy, only if they think god will save them which he well not!
The collector's edition DVD said it's his nephew. And and the actress for Ms. Collins was his looped voice! I kinda hate it when movies loop voices like that, though.
geez! she has really bad life, i mean, her life is utterly complete crap! i feel terrible! i would seriously run away and start a new life, but sense she's already brainwashed by her demented too religious that it is not even religious mother... this is so screwed up
The newer 1s have NOTHING on the original except cool special FX. I was about 12, when I saw Carrie. Mom & I had an argument earlier in the day so of course I'd quietly "grumble" all kinds of "mean stuff" in my bedroom later. While watching Carrie, I WISHED I had her powers... until I saw her mom @ the end. Piper's death was SO frightening that I went into my mom's room & said "I love you, Mommy!" as she slept. She sleepily replied "I love you too." Afterwards, I was on my best behavior.
@robynsegg: Chris was a super bitch & she clearly got her comeuppance, but is it me or did Miss Collins dote on Carrie a little too much? My mom read the book, & I have a paperback copy of it, but I can't find it. (D'oh!) But... I always got the feeling that Miss Collins like Carrie a little TOO MUCH... if you get my drift. I found Betty Buckley's "overprotectiveness" creepy. I also found that St. Sebastian statue creepy. It's been 33 years & I STILL find that statue too scary to look @.
Piper Laurie's character,Carrie's mom was a crazy A- B*tch!!! The way she talks about God is negative! She had no connection with God...Sounds almost like my sister! She thinks everything is a sin! This part in the shower when she started her period, her mom says "it was the curse of the blood" that came out of her! I mean come on!...Doesn't she have a period herself? The way she was acting abnormal, she probably doesn't!
Stephen king wrote the book for this on a bet he tried quitting this book but his wife wouldn't let him he then sold the book and it became his first published novel
I see this movie more as a Tragedy than Horror... Absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking. My favorite "horror" film of all time...
I like how it subverts the logic of Horror, showing that the people that we often demonize and scapegoat in day to day life are sometimes just those strange and misunderstood souls that stick out to us in the wrong way.
Sometimes we're the monsters, not the weirdos. I just wish more of the people who enjoyed and sympathized with this movie would learn from it.
That was like. The crappiest night of her life. She gets pigs blood dumped all over her. Laughed at. Then she kills people. Then her mom tries to kill her. Then she kills her mother. Then her house burns down and she dies. I would call that a bad day
Her mother looks EXACTLY like the Jesus
Omg the part where she grabs her arm scared the heck outa me
Ya know this was a good movie, but honestly, I find Carrie to be more of a sad/depressing movie, other than a horror film. I mean seriously she was a teenager that was depressed and who suffered from low self esteem (personality wise), she took crap from everyone including her mother, the teachers, and of course her peers. This is what happens to most teenagers, not only Carrie. But my opinion may be wrong. I just feel that this movie was just sad.
Everyone should read this book, or at least see the movie. I've just begun to write an independent script for a less dated version out of boredom. This is still a great movie, though.

I'm sure that's why they say don't mess with a classic.

Just like a typical high school girl does while taking a shower in the girls lockerroom or even at a health-club.
100572a 1 year ago
Yup! Because Nancy Allen & Betty Buckley had to rehearse that slapping scene in actuality over & over again many times with real force in order to make that slap scene convincing to viewers which gave Nancy a sore face afterwhile from being slapped so many times until they finally got the slap scene right.
100572a 1 year ago
Hell yeah! Because that's what sells tickets because sex sells.
100572a 1 year ago
The girls lockerroom scene that you see here is the reason why they had to edit and revise that scene on regular TV and cable TV with CARRIEs alternate lockeroom scene that was shown on AMC, CBS, A&E, SCI-FI Channel, etc. since it was obviously too sexy and too nasty to show us, but you can also view CARRIEs Alternate lockerroom scene on YouTube too. This original girls lockerroom scene is the same exact way it was shown on HBO & in the movie theaters back in 1976. Boy CARRIE was an awesome film
100572a 1 year ago
I love this movie CARRIE and the girls lockerroom scene with all those naked girls prancing around in full frontal nudity is very astonishing and genuine along with the fact that movies rarely start out like this, but this goes to show you how director(Brian De Palma)loves his nudity in his movies like CARRIE & DRESSED TO KILL for instance which both start out with offensive and awesome nude scenes. Nancy Allen I think is the sexiest, especially in her nude scenes, especially in CARRIE.
100572a 1 year ago
Why can't teachers slap little bitches around anymore? Nah, joking...
Just think, though, if most kids who were in Carrie's positons had them kind of powers... There'd be death all around schools everywhere... Would there even be school? Hrm....
Great movie, none the less.

@AMERICAN0ZERO Oh I know, I was saying her mom is psychotic, not Carrie.
honeegrrl 1 year ago

Theclowcard 2 years ago 2
yes Piper Laurie (carrie's mom) told Brian Depalma (the director) that she wanted the death scene to play out like a final orgasm, so he let her do it that way.

ok no. this movie is just ahuge nono. i mean lik WTF this is so different from the actual book. the story is suppose to be gory, surprising, violent, funny, crazy, and alittle dramatic. but this piece of S#1T is just lik SUPER dramatic. and SUPER sad. they miss so many parts lik the rains of rocks. this movie just sucks.

I jumped.

She sleepily replied "I love you too." Afterwards, I was on my best behavior.
robynsegg 2 years ago
@robynsegg: Chris was a super bitch & she clearly got her comeuppance, but is it me or did Miss Collins dote on Carrie a little too much? My mom read the book, & I have a paperback copy of it, but I can't find it. (D'oh!) But... I always got the feeling that Miss Collins like Carrie a little TOO MUCH... if you get my drift. I found Betty Buckley's "overprotectiveness" creepy. I also found that St. Sebastian statue creepy. It's been 33 years & I STILL find that statue too scary to look @.
robynsegg 2 years ago
that was funny how that little kid crashed hi bike after he called carrie names.

SERIOUSLY SUE! RUN FASTER! STUPID STUPID GYM TEACHER!!!! STUPID! Poor Carrie =(
Carrie 2 wasn't nearly as good
and That mom is a freaky ass.
That was like. The crappiest night of her life. She gets pigs blood dumped all over her. Laughed at. Then she kills people. Then her mom tries to kill her. Then she kills her mother. Then her house burns down and she dies. I would call that a bad day
Her mother looks EXACTLY like the Jesus
Omg the part where she grabs her arm scared the heck outa me

i know surprisingly i fucking jumped when the arm popped out of the ground lmao. thats the only part in the movie that scared me.
