  • d?

  • That rhythm is fucking weird but I love it nonetheless. My only problem is there's alot of spaces for creativity in there that you didn't take advantage of. It would have been nice to see it more jam packed with licks n' tricks and all sorts of goodies :D

    But still, nice video man.

  • hey try play faster ; )

  • @aguxtin74 If the scale-like fill at the end weren't there, I would have. Otherwise, the rhythm of it wouldn't come out correctly at faster tempos! :]

  • @blackened138 no problem! remember it is your song :)

  • @blackened138 no problem! remember it is your song

  • @aguxtin74 why it sounds great

  • awesome riff! I uploaded a video with some riffing, check it out and comment on your thougths!

  • @TheMokomi300 Thanks, man. Will do.

  • Good riff man

  • Metal Melodies are for faggots.

  • @DB73093 if you dont like it WHY THE FUCK WOULD U WATCH IT, and bye the metal has way better talent than your stupid little emo songs

  • @desiremyvids Lol its funny that you called me emo. Honestly I would consider YOU an emo metal pos3r \m/ you fucking bint. You have no clue what your talking about. I clicked on the video cause it said metal riffs, what I got?.. Stupid melodic metal bullshit that's been done before. Your cool faggot

  • @DB73093 Shit. What was I thinking?! Make sure you let Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera, Black Sabbath, and all them know, too. I don't think they heard the news!

  • @DB73093 closed minded much lmao

  • go "FEED YOUR DOG"

naw replace the letter E with "u" and "c"

  • GH2mainiac i'm sure you've never called someone a fag or faggot for no rational reason, right? As for the riff, its lame. Not necessarily the riff itself, but the fact that you're posting something on the internet we've all heard a million times. So what's the point? You can play, we see that. What I would like to see/hear is something original. P.s. I'm not trying to be a dick, just giving you my honest response.

  • @fevver42 This hadn't been seen/heard "a million times" quite yet back in 2006. Check the date things are uploaded when they have tons of views before you comment and complain. If you want to hear better riffing, go look up my band, DEADTIDE. Thanks.

  • @blackened138 either way the riff isnt very good, but i do understand your probably better as these riffs are a gateway for better riffs, butt fevver42 if you wanna stand out as someone great, you need to play something that stands out, you have the abilities so go forth!

  • That's an LTD not an SG...

  • @Gpup4Lifez Haha, I'm aware; I own it! :P

  • i just came a lil bit lol u bad ass

  • @lereker1231 Hahah thanks, man

  • its still playing in the end when his hand stops. fucking fake faggot.

  • @MrKkpanda Hahah, that's the melody recording. I'm playing the harmony over the melody riff live in this video.

  • @blackened138 oh my bad bro

  • @MrKkpanda Lol, no worries

  • That was some good stuff man, loving the Black SG.

  • @MrNhjkmn Thanks, dude! Glad you liked it.

  • check out my vids

  • This isn't metal, you core fag.

  • @Anarchyffan Oh yeah? I don't hear screaming in this video... do you?

  • @blackened138 People purposely comment on your videos to get pwnt

  • @Anarchyffan hmm whats wrong with core, sure nothins wrong with core, its your opinion whats so bad about it the guitars are just as kick ass and complex as metal but its a lil more diverse hardcore metalcore deathcore decent genres of music its cool if u express an opinion but calling some1 a british cigarette for the music they like is kinda stupid

  • Wats the tuning

  • @godswarrior115 In this video, my guitar was tuned to drop C. This was taken 5 years ago. I haven't played or composed in drop C in like 3-4 years.

  • why is everyone baggin this guy? i like it... who cares if it sounds original. i like how simple it is but how awesome it sounds! good job bro

  • @KuwaharaRacer Thanks, man! I really appreciate your nice comment.

  • @blackened138 you're welcome:) i really like the riff:)

  • @blackened138 you're welcome! there is a lot of guitar "experts" who seem to reaaaallly know what they are talking about out there... i use the term "experts" very loosely

  • Sounds like every metalcore riff. You could improvise that instantly. No offense, but it isn't really creative or individual.

  • @Lovemetallica93 Agreed, man. No offense taken. After all, this was written in 2005/2006 in my earlier writing years!

Check out my band, Deadtide, instead to hear awesome up-to-date riffing from ChromeCelica00, and vocals coming on our EP, which will be out in the next few weeks!

    myspace . com / deadtide

  • @blackened138 Okay, I will check it out and give feedback. Hopefully there's something special going on :D Also I would like to introduce my band, Dustopia, to you. You can check some stuff out on my youtube channel or our site: myspace . com / dustopiamusic

  • "ALL METALHEADS PLEASE SUBSCRIBE SO I CAN BRING MORE *ORIGINAL* METAL"

"YES I KNOW THIS IS GENERIC ..."

    ....

    really.

  • you disgrace that pantera shirt faggot

  • @axllovesslash Can't be any worse than Dimebag in spandex back in the 80s, but you probably didn't even know Pantera was originally a hair metal band. Better luck next time.

  • @blackened138 PWNT so fucking bad.

  • @blackened138 lol pantera is the best!!! \m/

  • @Teebonesky Fuck yeah, man! They're definitely one of the greatest metal bands to ever walk to the earth.

  • @axllovesslash agreed

  • I swear this is a actual War of Ages song.

  • @xBingobam Hmm... never heard of War of Ages... but just looked them up and this riff has been around at least half as long as their band haha

  • ur melody guitar ur playing needs to be louder. or ur recorded quieter

  • @pennstateyo You're right. The way I was recording this was like the way ChromeCelica00 used to record. It was trial and error with a digital camera mic and computer speakers. This was video was uploaded 5 years ago.

These days, I record using a Line 6 POD UX2... it allows me to have a sound much closer to studio quality.

  • @misterchock No problem, man. The more you listen to music and figure out riffs on guitar, the better your ear gets!

  • dismember band ?

  • @misterchock this reminds me of knifes and pens

  • @misterchock I'm sorry to say, but if this reminds you of Unholy Confessions, you've got a lot of listening to do before your ear is trained well.

  • Sounds like As i Lay Dying to me

  • @12moshpit Yeah, it has a small similarity in note pattern between chords to Through Struggle. Probably cause they're both VERY straightforward riffs.

  • I hate my Crate ):

  • @CubertBeMySuitePee Yeah, man. They're not good metal amps. Gotta get yourself a Mesa, Marshall, Peavey, etc!

  • at 0:18 he does it without touching the guitar :D

  • at 0:18 he does it without touching the guitar :D

  • I've noticed that every metal core song has wayyy too much treble and no mid or bass

  • @DistortedBrain Hey, man. Appreciate the comment. You're right--There are no mids in here. I was doing the best I could with a Crate amp and a Digitech Metal Master. This composition (a "song" has vocals and is complete) is in no way intended for metalcore. It was inspired by Dark Traniquillity.

  • @blackened138 Haha understandable man, I hate the long period of using a new pedal to find the right tone when you always just used the amp itself

  • @DistortedBrain Yeah, dude... completely agree with you. Finding ideal tones takes a while. Crate amps suck ass for metal, so it was even harder trying to find a decent sound for the video.

  • it doesnt matter with guitar you got the most importand is:

    fretboard

    amp

    pickups

    strings

  • @joinmyteam Aside from the amp, you've just listed 3 of the most important parts that define a guitar's sound and playability. When most of the guitars a company make meet quality standards and expectations for those parts, then it DOES matter what kind of guitar you have. Companies like ESP, Jackson, & Schecter are KNOWN for their excellent metal guitars because metal guitarists look for and swear by the parts they use standard.

  • @blackened138 the accually guitar is just wood

  • @joinmyteam "the accually guitar is just wood"

That would be the body... Go to Google Images and search "parts of an electric guitar"

  • @blackened138 i know the parts... well i dont know what your guitar is made of but my body is made of wood and my neck is made of wood and the head is made of wood

  • @joinmyteam What are the wires inside your guitar made of? What are the frets on your neck made of? What are the inlays made of?

My guitar is solid METAL. Metal EVERYTHING. How does it work, then, you wonder? It was made by God, himself.

  • @blackened138 what ur talking about is the hardware on the guitar..... the thing u put on after you make the guitar of wood:)

  • @joinmyteam Oh, okay, I see what you're saying. It's completely contextual.

  • @joinmyteam Dont forget body construction, you can have a shit BC Rich plywood guitar (not bashing on them, i <3 BCR) or have a nice maple flame top w/ mahogany body for nice sustain etc. Wood quality is a huge factor

  • i like your band but you guys sound too much like in flames and dark tranquility... dont get me wrong cromecelica dude is really good! but a band only goes so far if they sound like someone else

  • @L9323 Hey, dude. I can definitely appreciate your comment. They're our foundation. The only way to start a band is to build off of other bands you love for inspiration. In time, you grow into your own sound. Not sure if you've heard my vocals, but they don't sound like Anders or Mikael, so that's a good start for getting a unique sound. Thanks for your feedback and I'm really glad you like us.

  • @joeseph91027632 no dude its an ESP LTD Viper. ESP's are IDEAL metal guitars

  • the fuck was that? could barely hear it lol metal NEEDS to be LOUD btw who would subscribe for 24 second clips man? lol

  • @deadramaster Turn up the volume on your computer/speakers! You want it loud, you can make it LOUD!

"Who would subscribe for 24 second clips?" I don't know... maybe 2,727 people? haha

  • @joeseph91027632 You don't NEED a specific guitar for metal, but it sure helps. I sure as hell would never recommend people play metal with a Squier, a Strat, or a Daisy Rock guitar... My guitar is made by ESP, which is a company renowned for making amazing guitars for metal.

  • Someone needs to invent brutal-melo death

  • im into every type of metal, and this video is all bad i only like the 0:00 to 0:24 part XDDDDD i love you melodic riff, keep up ;)!!

  • @ticofa2 Hahah, thanks, man! Really appreciate it!

  • i got the same guitar XD esp ltd viper 400

  • @guitiar111 Good choice! Such a badass guitar!

  • @blackened138 bad choice such an fakeass guitar

  • @buujack You listen to emo and scene bands... what would you know about good metal guitars? Oh yeah--nothing.

  • @blackened138 haha someone is mad lol i was joking its sick guitar and sick choice i love that riff as well ^^

  • @buujack Why would you pretend to troll my video comments? Regardless, thanks. glad you like it.

  • @buujack obviously would rather play a first act duh!

  • @jamisonis2coo First Act + Squier <3

  • @buujack ... what's fake about it??

  • @Sketch95 Thanks for the support, Sketch! People are such noobs.

  • this is fake because look at the guy in the end the guitar is still playing and hes something with the camara thumbs up if this is true

  • @Edison9755 A recording of the melody riff is playing in the background. In this video, what I'm playing is the harmony riff. That's why one continues in the background after I stop playing. The melody riff track was on loop.

  • I enjoy watching video people with an original idea rather than playing cover songs.

  • @parisiteparylyze1 Glad you do, man! Thanks for your insightful comment!

  • This is generic as fuck.

  • @varulv234 So glad you can read!

  • @varulv234 What does that mean?

  • this would be better if you had a decent sound quality camera.. and fail at the end where you stop playing but the guitar sound keeps going(;

  • @fall3n02 Yeah, man sorry about the quality. This is from when I first started out uploading videos. And no fail at the end! That was the melody riff. In this video, I'm playing the harmony riff.

  • metal riffs are beast

  • Sounds really nice man! Great riffs, and nice guitar! :)

  • @ImbowProductions

    Thank you, dude!

  • sounds like 3 inches of blood to me :o

  • @MennacetoSociety

Haven't heard that comparison before... but 3 in kicks ass so I'll take it as a compliment. Thanks!

  • SUCHE BAND !!

  • Sounds awesome. Definitly put this riff into a song

  • @bcrichguitar11

Thanks, will do... only if it's reworked a LOT.

  • man great vid im a huge metal fan. just wondering what guitar and amp is it you use because it sounds great

  • @JoshAndJoshMusic

In this video it's my ESP ltd Viper 400, a mini Crate practice amp, and a Digitech Metal Master pedal. That was a temporary setup, though, while in a dorm room at college. The only reason it sounds decent is because of the pedal. Crate amps are not for metal.

  • @blackened138

ok can you give me a link or something to use to buy the pedal because i also have a crate and i hate the wannabe distortion it has.

  • @JoshAndJoshMusic Of course, man. Here you go: digitech[dot]com/products/Pedals/MetalMaster.php

  • my ears are bleeding

  • love how riffs like this always revolve around open, 8th fret, 10th fret. without fail.

  • @musicus77

Yeah, dude, we (my band) always joke about that. This riff is so old, though, that it was before the time when everyone realized that and was like wow, it's all the same. As a band, we avoid Open-8-10 like the plague.

  • good guitar

  • Pretty sick !!

  • @wagerboi123

    Thank you!

  • why do you have more visits than..... oh let it loose---- good riff btw

  • whats wrong with metalcore, i go from listening to trivium to dark tranquility in one sitting. theres nothing rong with metacore.

  • @sup7300

Well the idea of metalcore isn't that bad. Growing up on punk and hardcore and then on metal, I personally like it. It's just the recent "scene" bands that have totally ruined the idea... not to mention deathcore... which is just fucking lame (and all those bands these days are scene), but that's just my opinion...

  • bad ass

  • @zachharris55

    Thanks!

  • DEATH MELODICO¿??¿?¿?¿¿? AMIGO CREOQ UE MAS BIENE S METALCORE!

  • you should really practice switching faster

  • @park157396

If you were joking because the video and audio don't sync correctly, I Loled. If not... LoL anyway.

  • not bad..not bad..

  • @strifeblade72

    Thanks, strifeblade72!

  • metalcore, not melodic death ;)

  • I like it, don't give a fuck what kinda metal it is =]

  • @FuckRoeli

Good to hear, man! Music > Image.

  • metallcor riff is coll

  • @XWarHammeRsX

I'm a huge Kalmah fan, dumbass. Epic fail.

  • nice riff but i think it should be played in a faster tempo

  • @rusvanis

Thanks, man... I'll keep that in mind if/when I incorporate this riff into a full song.

  • @blackened138 Yes a faster tempo would make it sound really good, I think there should also be a bit more palm mutes, with a harder picking sound. Im not criticizing just want your to know what you could improve, Thanks

  • @rusvanis

    Thanks for the recommendation!

  • nice riff but i think u should play it in a faster tempo

  • thats not death metal, that sounds like something outta a castlevania video game.

  • @f8talh8red

Who said it was death metal? hahah

  • @blackened138 look at the description "melodic DEATH METAL" hahah

  • @blackened138 look at the description "melodic DEATH METAL" hahah

  • @f8talh8red

Please read more carefully next time, man. It never says this riff is melodic death metal--It says that any melodeath fans should check out my band.

Even if you were to look at it with the intention of classification, it has no vocals over it, so really, it's whatever the creator intends. If growling and grunting were to accompany it, it would be melodic death metal. On the other hand, if screaming (and/or yelling) were to accompany it, it would be metalcore. See what I'm saying?

  • @blackened138

either way it still sux! and you are imlying that your sound IS melodic death metal by saying "if you like melodic death metal, then check out my band."

  • This is pretty generic, its lush I recon you need to add something to it, and defiantely speed it up.

  • @ShanfredMetalface

    Agreed. Thanks for your input.

  • its realy cool bro

keep up da good wrk :)

  • its realy cool bro

keep up da good wrk :)

  • @timmehtimmehtimmehti

    Thanks, man

  • nice one :)

  • nice one :)

  • i like =)

  • @DrunkenStars

    Thanks, dude

  • i like =)

  • sucks way to slow

  • not sure how that sounds generic dont let douche bags change what you think about your riffs its not bad

  • @motorbreath94

You're right, man. My writing has become much better than this, though. I'd rather people to check out my other stuff and my band rather than see only this and move on.

    Thanks for the awesome comment.

  • NO EST AMAL

  • @Jairodominguezzz

Tuviste la intencion de escribir "No esta mal," correcto?

  • check out my video

  • i maybe increased the tempo alittle bit. it sounds kinda slow idk i like da riff its that there is sumthin missing uknow?

  • I would, but the scale-like fill at the end of the video gets really tricky to play if the rest is sped up. I'll probably speed this up when I completely rework it and make it less generic before putting it in a full composition. Thanks for the suggestion, man!

  • Great stuff dude..really good. Check out some of my stuff and tell me what you think.

  • @bloodygore250

    Thanks, man. Definitely.

  • ive got a few pretty good riffs(arent i modest :] ) but i dont know what to do with them?
