  • [...] My mom always tells me that when I was a kid I hardly ever cried or whined at all about anything! Even when I got hurt. So hearing me screamingly upset must have been staggering. She must have thought "I guess this cat really is a keeper" LOL

She ended up going out, fiding the feline and lettting me keep him.

The cat lived a LONG time as well he died of age.

I remember that it was really hard for me to get over it. I didn't have any pets for a while after that.

  • My first pet was a cat!

I remember like it was yesterday. It showed up in my yard and I just took it inside and hid it on my bed, under my favorite blanket (I was like 3 or 4 I think I'm not sure) then a couple minutes later my mom finds the "unknown subject", I was sensing she was going to but hoping she woudn't, so she tosses him out. Then She comes back inside and when I realize the cat's gone I scream freakishly LOL [...]

    RESPECT!

I love cats so much... and dogs also.

From what I heared here and there it is particularly the kidneys that can become the "weak point" in elderly cats!

  • Indeed, the heart and kidneys are their weak points.

Oh, and he recently celebrated his 20th birthday ;)

  • Congratulations!

Good for you and good for your Kitty that you rescued him out of the animal asylum.

I am planning to do the same!!!

    Still watching... and considering...

  • I wish you good luck with getting to adopt a lovely kitty. It's sad how the older felines tend to stay in the shelters longer because all of the people want a kitten >:

  • I had to take my poor old cat to the vet's today

    : (

She has chronic allergies, both ears are infected, and she also has an eye allergy, so for the next 10 days, I have to give her steroids, ear drops and eye drops.

It's not going to be a fun 10 days, but she's worth it!

  • Too many people taking their pets to the vet to get put down at the slightest hurdle when they're getting old. I'm very proud of you taking the opportunity to treat her allergies, the cat deserves to be given a chance to get better =)

Tell me when she gets better, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well. We'd never thought our Midas would get this old, but here he is, still fit as ever (albeit a bit stiff and thinner, but happy and healthy).

  • You are such a sweetheart CC91... your comment brought tears to my eyes. What a softhearted, thoroughly nice person you are!

Aww, thanks :) I do the best I can and always try to help people when possible, wether it's by physically helping them or, in this case, just by trying to make 'em feel a bit more confident. I'm certain your cat will do fine and have a good recovery, even if it might take a little long. Cats are tough and stubborn, they won't let something take them down very easily.

Though that is also why we didn't notice anything was really wrong with Sytske, a previous cat ): I miss her.

  • Cute kitty!

  • I love cats, cats are cool!!!!!!!!!

  • They're lovely creatures, aren't they?

He gave us quite a start by losing lots of weight suddenly, though. But he's been to the vet and got an infection in his mouth treated, so he's eating like crazy atm x3

But yesh, cats are cool ;)
