Not sure what scene Pete Waterman was on,but Northern was never just about men or miners.

Northern was totally democratic sexually and it was as much about women as men. You were separated only by being hard core about the scene or not. And there weren't many miners in Cleethorpes, Blackpool, Leicester, Dundee , St.Ives etc hard places of religious worship for the scene and the Casino . Good luck with the film Elaine.
