For those who do not know this song is on norman connors album. It was presented on the radio at the time as norman connors! My best friends father was a radio DJ at the time and I remember this being listed in the billboard trade magazine as Norman Connors. Michael Henderson had a album at the time which included Wide Reciver and this song was not on that album at the time!
If only, in 2012, an artist came that could do this type of music and be respectful and versatile and CROSS OVER all over the industry and become Internationally Huge.....
Where's Michael today ('12)? He was incredible, and I hope he's still performing and composing great music. His music transcends a "''70's sound" to me as this is crossover jazz/R&B... or undefineable and great.
Too add to that list Mr. Dibia$e also used it. Very dope joint. I'm glad I came across this cat today. I've always made a mistake of juding books by their cover, or in this case - albums by their cover. Never heard of this cat till today and I'm damn glad I came across it.
So glad I found this on here. This was one of my FAVORITE songs that I would love hearing on the Quiet Storm on Sunday nights b4 I went to bed growing up. Just soothing grown folk REAL music!
Hey kids out there just imagine growing up to this kind of music, riding around with your girlfriend/boyfriend listening to this playing and somehow avoiding teen pregnancy. Well we did it, so you all have no excuse.
I think Norman Connors is listed as the artist the same way Quincy Jones always is. no matter who is singing on Quincys project it's always by Quincy Jones.
@ELSuperbeasto64 I bought a CD in the mid 90's that contained this song and Norman Connors was listed as the artist. I have the same question, if Henderson produced and sang the song, why is Connors listed? Did Connors write the song or something? Whatever the case, I feel very honored and grateful to have discovered Mr. Henderson's music. This guy is so phenomenal that I wonder why it is that I have never heard his name before.
Michael, Your Spaceshyip song is lovely. I don't normally listen to ballad stuff being more into dance/trace music, however, I was was pleasantly surprised. Go for it!
This is the version I prefer. Acoustics were getting more advanced everyday.
