After several hours in the chamber, people develop "Stimulation Hunger", which means they become desperate for ANY sensory stimulation. People with fear of snakes have been cured in this way. Once the stimulation hunger kicks in, therapists show the subject pictures of snakes of varying degrees of realism. After a few sessions, the fear diminishes.
