I think it is crazy to play in a noisy public place like this. Early on I heard dogs in a barking competition. Bad for players AN0 fans, because real fans want to see games that are under good conditions and not being influenced by random noise. Imagine what Bobby would have said...
Hallo Magnus , not only your letter to FIDE in November 2010 shows that you are not any longer the best chessplayer , since November 2010 Viswanthan is also again the chessplayer with the highest rating. Try to beat my worldrecord with mate in 550 here on youtube if you can ... kindly regards from Karlsruhe , Germany
you are not your chess program... if that is the case 4 year old kids with rybka are chess monsters as well... so stop bragging if you have the best opponent in the world... of course you can run away with statements like that when you get your ass kicked whenever you play with humans, and can't beg to take back your last move, even you cry blood.
Probably the 2 best blitz players in the World ... people are simply shopping and checking in..pretty much says it all about how chess has been so poorly marketed over the years. At least it's public ... that's a start.
@GibsonHummingbird because you can watch soccer or whatever if you dont know tactics and all coaching stuff and you cant watch chess when you dont understand the moves or where was a mistake or somethink its like watching 32 pawns move forward or somethink not very interesting for regular people especially watching it like 7 hours.
Hello Magnus , you didnt beat the - WORLD - you beat - ONLY 3 GM - with over 100 elo less than you have. Against the WORLD with the normal PC-Hardware and Stockfish 1.8 - or better Rybka-4-Software at home you cant win. The WORLD knows that your BOXING-show was only a DECEPTION. You say in your clip : Can YOU beat me
@0p14te Having the queen ready for queening is not arrogant in blitz. But it can be seen as arrogant of course. Check out: NZo8O-p9qy4 which shows nakamura can also play this game :)
Yeah I did read it was in Central Station but I see a store int he background, elevator and commuters talking and kids shouting. I don't think a train station makes it any better :)
Norway has such a beautiful building and wonderful locations, I think the organizers of this event had no idea!
After every GM game I've seen they always get up and leave so fast after it's over... lol, why do they do that?. They start really quick too, a little hand shake and then 9 moves are played in like 1.2 seconds.
Carlsen had this game won with a two pawn advantage. He blew this game in a miss calculated pawn race. Naka is the king of blitz.....fast chess period.
yes, Carlsen won final game #1 and should easily have won this (#2) as well.. then he had taken home the tournament. Carlsen told me afterwards he got a mental setback after this mistake - he wasn't really "in" the last two games..
@AlterEgo2k8 Instead of playing Kf6 in the pawn ending just after he took the knight on e6, he should play f4 followed by g4 f5 and then he is winning the race, promoting with a check
@bodypowr Perhaps you are stuck in a timewarp but the rest of the world lives in 2010. In computer development terms, that's light years of chess evolution. No doubt Naka would make light work of the 1977 chess program CHESS 4.6 too.
@BenNCM 3 years have not added that much to computer ratings...There might be slight improvements over the past two years, but no quantum leaps... Still, you might say the same about human players - since human chess ratings are pressing 2900 level soon. Anyway: My argument stands. Nakamura has beaten two of the top engines in blitz games, and its a superhuman achievement.
he is Kasparov's student, check his game with Kosteniuk also here in youtube, looks like history is about to repeats itself... kasparov has once have an issue with touch move rule against a female player Polgar before. anyway its not certain yet if he could actually be great as his teacher.

@Shoarmaboer20 thats what makes him a great chess player...b/c he takes losing very hard. thats the thing with great players, they usually have great motivation for winning and hate losing. champions dont' have a sometimes you win, sometimes you lose attitude. its not so gracious tho'. just sayin'.
At 09:33, I had this rare loving feeling for Carlsen. It made me realize he is not a cold machine after all as I thought once. Yet, he has elevated his ego lately. Who wouldn't after winning the world blitz championship and having almost the whole world eyes on him.

sorry guys, but this was all I could get with my N79 Nokia.. I wish you could see the time as well, it was quite exciting (3min + 2 sec )! at one point there Magnus Carslen discovers that he just has seven sconds left, dropping to 1 sec.. but then he moves like crazy and actually gains some time.. he lost though, making some severe mistakes.
