I think the trick is to paint with a LOT of paint! I always have a very "loaded" and juicy brush. if you squeeze peanut sized amounts of paint on your palette, then that is WAY too little paint. I recommend blobs of paint at least the size of an unshelled walnut.

My paint never goes on that smooth. I must be doing something wrong.
