the mistake here is by the american writer of the serie ...they really dont know exactly what the word merde means and when you can really use it !!!

@donelias1502 It's not a mistake. It seems completely appropriate to me for a captain to say something like that when a ship-threatening problem arises from something as innocuous what amounts to some of the crew playing an RPG. You'd swear, too.

the word merde doesn't mean "fuck" but "shit" so... how many american tv allow actors to say "shit" on screen without beeping. "Fuck" doesn't really have anything as strong in french. Closest would be "baiser" but this can be translated to "kiss" depends on the context and rendition of the person saying it to show its strenght as a cuss word
