FYI , if your using a heat sink fan , (which most are) Thermal paste isn't needed , of course for the enthusiasts who care about every little detail there going to use it reguardless but its definitely not needed and if you've never put it on before I highly recommend not doing it...

Let her know that Dell has custom power supplies and it costs 3 times more than a standard one goes for..

The Custom one will always be faster than a already built unit and have an upgrade path. Then its cheaper to reuse the parts from a custom pc during upgrade.

The already made ones are usually fine for internet use only. Forget gaming on them without spending a fortune.

Not sure what exactly you are asking. I am assuming you mean swapping the CPU heat sink with your new one? You first have to make sure it is compatible with your CPU and if it is, make sure to clean off any used thermal paste and then apply a new layer.

Does she know what she's doing? With the push pin HSF its a better idea to do to OPPOSITE CORNERS AT THE SAME TIME.  Then do the same thing for the other two. When you do it the way she demonstrated, you have one side of the HSF clamped to the board and the other side is tilted up, mkaing it harder to push the last 2 in.

It is not that easy. You don't show the most tricky part with the heat sink installation. If you do it this way, you are likely to end up with a broken mobo or a partially installed heat sink.

Yikes! You don't know how to apply a HSF. You always press down on the mounting pins across from each other diagonally or else you risk pushing the thermal paste out to one side and if that paste happens to be electrically conductive, like Arctic Silver, then you risk shorting the CPU/board if that paste goes where it shouldn't (if you put too much on). You might also crack the board.
