The basic problem isn't that people aren't being selective about when they choose to get health care, it's that they're being too selective, and as a result, they don't get the preventative care that's necessary to head off much more expensive conditions down the line. Routine health care is much cheaper than emergency health care.

How much does US healthcare really cost us? Co-pays + deductibles + premiums + what bosses subtract from what you should be earning because his business provides "benefits" + what you pay for those uninsured who go to ER every year + increased cost of benefits to American Industries + loss of competitiveness of US in world market because of these costs + profits for insurance and pharmaceuticals

FYI: ...our "bosses subtract from what you should be earning.." Your company is paying for that too, not just you. The "benefit" that they provide you is that YOU don't have to pay the full cost, your company pays a big chunk of it for you. Get your facts straight!

My G/F is American and when she had a bust up knee, she had to suffer it, because she could not afford it even with a job. It was fix her knee or be homeless. Pretty sick really. The U.S is supposed to be a Christian country, yet I don't recall Jesus saying, I will only heal you if you give me money or profit.

I have health insurance. I'm one of the lucky ones. Some people can't afford health insurance. And some who have it, the insurance companies refuse to pay claims. The problem, I think, is a little too complicated for you.

This just makes me feel so sad, how could so many like the president be so out of touch with reality. If you live it, you would understand, he obviously doesn't have a clue, not a clue. wow. I am sure Cleveland hospital is amazing if you are insured! and wont have to pay huge deductibles etc. Just so depressing. The next election can't get here fast enough.
