MAsters in all their glory, teachers in all of their right!

  • why do most of these famous artists have long hair???....

  • @arjunpp123 good observation.

  • @arjunpp123

What kind of question is that? Is that relevant to the Mastery skills of these Musicians?

Next you will be questining the Clothes they wear and the the colour of their skins..

Just appreciate and enjoy the music IF YOU CAN.

  • Desi Daft Punk :P

  • fantastic...ecstacy

  • Wah Zakir Saheb, Khush Rahiey. Shiv Kumar saheb bhi zabardast hain.

  • His command over the left is phenomenal!

  • sick

  • Joy pumping through strings and percussion !! Lovely :)

  • They are the GIFTS from all mighty 03332604292

  • Superb!!!

  • i see why these guys never do drugs. they are high on music unlike the rock stars who need it to get to that level. in this case its the music that takes them to this level.

    RESPECT

  • @sidneyperot stop assuming shit.

  • @hereaminow

    oh yes daah'ling

    I dont assume you

  • @sidneyperot My brother & I gave up careers in Jazz since the 60s to follow this music and try to learn to play it- we sold our 30 year old guitars to buy Sitars, Bamboo Flutes, Tablas- all to try to go where these guys go- it 'aint about Ego- it's about the Raga and the Spirit, or Rasa to be coaxed out of the Raga I suspect. If you like this vibe, also watch Hariprasad Chaurasia with Zakir Hussain on Youtube. Bless you for posting this for us all! Pure Nectar.

  • @sitarnut

hey thats wonderful. Extending you POV I would like to add here that this performance in all respect was for the self. purely untouched by commercialisation. (I would have used selfish even but selfish is a negative word with the masses - but this is how nature is and thats why this music is so close to nature). I absolutely love classical music. Have listened to the great maestros you mentioned. Live in concert and their recordings.

  • @sitarnut

also just look at Zakirs face. so totally engrossed in the performance and smiling and tripping on it. Can it get any better. Of course it can but nothing we know of right now.

PS: I did not post this :)

  • absolutely correct. There is Divinity in Indian Classical and Folk Music. It intoxicates the Soul and powerful enough to not search for bodily joys....its the joy of a long lost son meeting his father.....meeting of soul with the Supreme Soul...

  • @sidneyperot

Completely agree with you brother, the music played at this level takes the player to an higher state of consciousness which lifts him to inner peace!

  • @sidneyperot so true. just saw them in concert yesterday and was saying the same thing.

  • @sidneyperot Sooo true

  • @sidneyperot Who said they don't do drugs?

  • @TheDretch

of course its not written in stone. its a general perception which is true to a great extent

  • @sidneyperot Can you provide any proof of this "general perception true to a great extent" ?

  • @TheDretch

ok so let that be a level playing field. you provide me with a proof that they "do" and I will pitch in with mine. fair enough?

  • @sidneyperot lol you're the one who made the claim not me. You can't say Aliens are living in the Bermuda Triangle and than say I must prove you wrong. It's for you to prove your statement buddy.

  • i lost all control . lost everything . hypnotized by this music .

  • i don't know to appreciate which one .. both are amazing ..

  • wah ustad!!!....he is the best!!!...

  • very good mir in baya

  • WHAT PERFORMANCE. ZAKIR HUSSAIN IS THE BEST. THE WORLDS GREATEST. HE IS THE MASTER OF THE TABLA

  • misra tilang

  • where is the 10 start button, the simple like does not do justice to this song

  • Cha gaye ustaad.

  • Just enjoying, spellbound, not worthy enough to comment. Commenting on this woukd be similar to commenting on Sachin's batting :)

What is Shivkumar Sharma playing? It looks like an Indian style dulcimer. Is it a Santoor I've just wiki'd?

  • Yea,its kinda like the hammered dulcimer...and its called the Santoor..good stuff,eh

  • Where can you find the complete recording to this concert?

  • Sooo beautiful...Ich würde so gern Tabla und Santoor spielen lernen.

  • god bless both of them, amazing performance!

  • Simply breathtaking performance by the two living legends without any reharshals. This is one of their finest prformances together.

I am proud to say that we had the privilege of presenting these two living legends at the Wulfruna Hall [Civic Hall] in Wolverhampton in 1989.

May God bless them both and keep them safe.

  • amazing...thanx a lot for sharing this vid..regards

  • Check out Zakir at 4:01 and 5:39. His hands are like a machine gun. Razor sharp precision and accuracy. This is all improvising. Amazing how he comes up with this stuff on the fly!

  • This is beyond imagination! When listening to this I immediately go into deep meditation. This is music of the gods! Shivkumar and Zakir are at their finest. You can tell both are divinely inspired on this particular evening.

  • very goood

  • one thing to keep in mind is that ALL of this is improv! none of this was planned. another thing is that they arent even looking at each other when they play so how do they know when to syncopate together?? its just amazing

  • Can anybody tell which Raga is this??????? Thanks

  • Hi, The raga which Shivji is playing I believe is Kirwani

  • nice

  • 2:08...2:09! Who missed sam?!! Or I didnt get it?

    Wonderful!! Both legends!

    Spellbound!

  • Nothing worng with it :)

  • I think the picture missed sam but the musicians played it together
