If you are saying `Lā ilāha illā-llāh` you cant put Allah same meaning with god. Because it means `There is no god, there is only Allah` "La" means "No", "Ilah" means "God", "Illa" means "Except, But, Only" and "Allah" is a special noun. You cant say Allah is a common noun like god. Because people who believe polytheism are calling idols gods. So how we can say god is same meaning in Arabic?

But according to my reading of Koran, it says Abraham was neither jew nor christian but a Muslim. The Koran does not say Abraham was the first muslim. So, is Mr.Qazwini right ? If he is right then what was Noah, Adam and other prophets before Abraham ? Werent they muslim too ?
Muslim means to submit oneself to the will of Allah. So all prophets and Messengers were practically Muslims in that sense. However, it was Abraham peace be upon him who the first to call those who submit to Allah as "Muslim" as in the verse talking about Abraham: "...He [Abraham] was the one to name you Muslims..."

The verse is in Surat Al-Hajj V 78. However, I have just read the explanation and it seems that the opinion that it was Abraham who first called us Muslims is a weak one, and most of the scholars seem to say that it is Allah who called us Muslims from before meaning in all the previous scriptures and in this one, i.e. the Quran. If you know Arabic I think you will understand the verse better inshaAllah.

Hanabali, Maliki, Shafi'i, Hanafi are the 4 schools of thought in Islam and are named after the Imams. Muslims (Sunnis) never pray 4 different ways, its only your lack of knowledge. The prophet Muhammad peace be upon him taught the Muslims how to pray. The Sunnah of the Prophet is one. The only ones that have a slightly different approach are the malikis, although some place their hands on their chests. You have distorted knowledge in this field and I can't explain everything here.

Well according to your Hadith books the Prophet used to pray on 'Khumra' (Palm straw mat), and never on the carpet.
Anything natural from the earth is allowed to be prostrated on. Anything which has gone through a chemical change and had its composition modified cannot be prostrated on.

The Prophet(PBUH) said the Muslims would split off into 73 sects, and all of them would be in hell except for one- the ones who held fast to his sunnah. Seeing as how the first instance of fitnah amongst the Ummah was the shiites, and seeing as how they curse the sahaba and praise those who murdered them, I would think twice before defending them.

There's just one problem with that- only ALLAH is all perfect and infallible. Even the Prophet(saws), the best of creation, said he used to repent more than 70 times a day. When you attribute the unique qualities of Allah to His creation, you are transgressing beyond the bounds of Islam. How can you expect anything other than hell for such beliefs?

The Prophet cannot do things contradictory to Islamic Law, such as sin. Why?: "O you who believe! why do you say that which you do not act? It is most hateful in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not act" (61:2-3)

Sunni Muslims are the only true Muslims. Shia's and all these other sects are deviants. This "imam" is a Shia. Although they share some of our core beliefs, they believe enough other crap to put them beyond the pale of Islam

Challenge to Muslims: According to Haddith Al Bukary # 4738, and Hadeeth Muslim 2550, Muhamed rape (marry) Aisha when she was 6 years old -- Please review the Hadith and try to answer to the following two questions...1- Why a 56 years old guy, Muhamed, marry (rape) the little girl Aisha? Can any Muslim, using Islamic sources, provide evidences that Aisha was a mature woman, when she was raped by Muhamed? Within Islam, there are various sects, each sect has their own sources of Guidance and Historrical Narrations.
The two major sects of Islam are the Sunni (80-85%) and the Shia (15-20%)
I am a Shia Muslim and the Hadiths in Bukhari and Muslim are not sources of authority for us, it is our belief that Ayesha was between the ages of 14-17 when she married the Prophet of Islam.
There are many respected brothers of the Sunni Faith who would be more than happy to answer your question.

Okay I am not an expert on Islam but there is something I'd like to hear from muslims. Mr. Qazwini says at 1:47 that Abraham was the first muslim. But according to my reading of Koran, it says Abraham was neither jew nor christian but a Muslim. The Koran does not say Abraham was the first muslim. So, is Mr.Qazwini right ? If he is right then what was Noah, Adam and other prophets before Abraham ? Werent they muslim too ?

Muslim means to submit oneself to the will of Allah. So all prophets and Messengers were practically Muslims in that sense. However, it was Abraham peace be upon him who the first to call those who submit to Allah as "Muslim" as in the verse talking about Abraham: "...He [Abraham] was the one to name you Muslims..."

Thanx man, your explanation makes sense but the way Qazwini explained made me confused. By the way, which verse of Koran says that Abraham was the first person to name the term - 'Muslim' ? Also, just curious, is this Qazwini guy Iranian or Iraqi ?

The verse is in Surat Al-Hajj V 78. However, I have just read the explanation and it seems that the opinion that it was Abraham who first called us Muslims is a weak one, and most of the scholars seem to say that it is Allah who called us Muslims from before meaning in all the previous scriptures and in this one, i.e. the Quran. If you know Arabic I think you will understand the verse better inshaAllah.

I agree because if I'm not mistaken, I understand that neither prophet Mohammed nor prophet Abraham (peace be upon them) is the founder of Islam. The founder of Islam actually is Adam because Islam was first revealed to Adam (not in a complete form but in a basic beginner level but later Islam was completed to Mohammad{sas} ). So why would God change the name who follows Islam later.

1. Allah
2. Muhammad
3. The near relative of Muhammad (Ahlul-Bayt)
4. Orphans
5. needy
6. the person who has fallen away from his home-town (and has no money to comeback to his own place).
This is proved by the Quranic verse 8:41

The "Iranian Mullahs" have never stated that at any point in history, and I will await proof you bring for what you have said.
The concept of "72 virgins" can not be found in any Shiite books of Islamic Hadiths (traditions). There is only one book which contains a hadith of the 72 virgins, and that is called Ibn Kathir, a book which is revered by Sunni Muslims.
