It should be in Regina. Toronto is too far away and I can't travel in August as I'm going to be going back to university in the autumn and can't spend a lot of money flying this summer.

Late August and early September is convention time in the US so St Paul and Denver might not be the best choices. The only other big city besides Toronto in the center of America is Chicago. One has to consider the weather too. The gulf states can be rather hot and muggy that time of year. Toronto and Vancouver are the media hubs for Canada. Toronto might be the best choice.

I beg to differ with you arnug, the requirement for Americans to hold a US passport when returning to the US by car or boat - from Canada at least - has been postponed to at least the middle of 2009.
This postponement is due to the fact that there is a lot of cross-border visits between the two countries on a daily basis yet most Americans still do not have a passport.

Part of the trouble with the US/Canada deal is that until recently you didn't need a passport to go from the US to Canada, and now you do...so there's a huge backlog when it comes to getting one. That said, I think it's only fair that these gatherings not always be here in the US. People from other countries use Youtube too! :)

Sorry, but technically Americans do not need a passport to enter Canada. Its only when an American goes back home to the US do they need a passport, and that's only if you are flying.
If you travel by car or boat an American does not need a passport to enter Canada nor do you need one to return to the US.

Part of the trouble with the US/Canada deal is that until recently you didn't need a passport to go from the US to Canada, and now you do...so there's a huge backlog when it comes to getting one. That said, I think it's only fair that these gatherings not always be here in the US. People from other countries use Youtube too! :)

Agreed. This is exactly why it'd be better (sorry, PL and everyone outside the US) to hold it in the states, no matter where. So many Americans don't have passports, the rules just changed for Canada, and suddenly we're all scrambling.

Sorry, but technically Americans do not need a passport to enter Canada. Its only when an American goes back home to the US do they need a passport, and that's only if you are flying.
If you travel by car or boat an American does not need a passport to enter Canada nor do you need one to return to the US.

As far as I've heard it's gonna be in Toronto. If it's in Toronto I'll go, otherwise I won't be able to afford to travel that far.
P.S. When Americans come to Canada, you don't really have to change your money, we do accept American money.

Of course, it looks like the Toronto one is actually planned for August 9th. So it's possible you could attend one that was on the 8th as well, if you get good connections.

I think, because you sound like you're saying "eh,eh,eh" when you say 888 fast, you must be subconsciously meaning that it has to be in CAnada. because, we have a copywrite on that phrase. So, it should be in Toronto!
