hmmm tbh by 1972 I thought all phantoms would've been using sidewinders instead of aim-4 crap. Weren't these missiles mainly used on the older generation of interceptors like the f-102/106 ??

The responsibles to make the USAF use the Aim-4 should have been hanged. I dont think any US forces had such a useless military issue since the early torpedoes of IIWW.
