None of what Poongko did was grab nonsense. It's called mixing up your opponent and he did a damn good job of doing it. That match was flawless on Poongko's part.

I mean, I can maybe get a decent combo or two in, but it's right back to a lot of grabs. Unfortunately not all of this match was shown here, but from this excerpt it looks like one the those matches. More power to Poongko for the victory I guess, but it was just meh for me.
Well, if someone's blocking, you throw them. That's Street Fighter 101. Daigo could have done a number of things to avoid those throws. He could have simply held up to jump away. He could have backdashed, he could have done a reversal, etc. Poongko was smart to capitalize on Daigo's defensiveness.
It was a great moment but I think unlike "EVO moment 37" the video doesn't convey the craziness of what happened. If you didn't understand how good Daigo was, it would just look like some guy owned some newb. But EVO 37 is amazing no matter who was playing because it's easy to see how high the pressure was.
On the other hand, its really annoying when someone says *insert character here* is overpowered or cheap (i.e. Uryo's Sakura after the last GodsGarden) all of a sudden, when they are not. These players are just playing these characters in their full potential.

@elspoko How is that any different when he used the best characters of all other fighting games at the times where he was dominant. SF2 - Ryu/Bolrog. SF3 - Ken. Alpha 3 - Ryu. Guilty Gear # Reload- Sol Badguy. The list goes on....

Daigo is the world-renowned fighting game player that people love, or love to hate. So it's no surprise how hyped this moment was.
I had the biggest smile for hours after this. I also have even more respect for Daigo since he didn't make excuses and blamed himself.
@madskizophrenik Don't use that set results as ammo, both players saw that as a "concept matches". Just ignore anyone that is silly enough to doubt Daigo's ability.

@madskizophrenik and if it was a first to 2, and the final score is 2-1, thats 50 percent more, large number right? not as much, with such low numbers, percents are NOT the best way to measure... you would learn that in 8th grade math nowadays. If it was 100-60, then ya, thats alot worse, but 10-6 is only a 4 game spread, which isnt a whole lot, he held his own, and guess what, Daigo lost AT evo, thats ALL that matters in the poongko vs daigo series. SBO is a joke.

The same thing happened when Daigo played against that European Rose player and got wrecked, only to come back and absolutely murder the guy the next time they played once he learned the match-up.
