WOW, I have'nt heard this, in like , 35 years! My cousin, Kurt, asked me to find a tune, and I came up with this.It was the wrong song, but we enjoyed it none the less! Thanks for posting, @Trademark1874!
Would you believe me if I were to tell you that this track is still requested in smooth jazz stations in Japan,Chile,Spain and other latin american countries !
i have the original vinyl spring high at home and have been told its worth a pretty penny too. the sublime jazz ending on this track is just the bees knees - so good it hurts !
i brought this album at the time and still have it in my collection. who will i bequeath my collection too..........that will be a "lucky fellow" in leroy hutson stylee. ramsey lewis' ending of spring high is sublime.......listen to the last beat & savour...they don't make music like this any more...............the best of black classical music. that's jazz!
my mom nearly went crazy ... i'm constantly playing this track daily!! never could get enough of this jaunty tune!! @ready4peace: my copy got "lost," too. :(
Sounds like Stevie. I saw Ramsey perform this one at Slippery Rock State University in 75. I also saw him open for EWF around the same time at Pittsburgh's Civic Arena. That was when RL was hot with his "Sun Goddess" release. Great time period. Great bassman on Spring High. Paul Jackson, maybe???
I love that you posted the great "Spring High" by Ramsey Lewis off the "Love Notes" LP. I wish they'd reissue that as a CD because the title song is nowhere else in the universe but on that vinyl record!
When you get a chance, could you please (mr. postman!) post "Love Notes". It is also a classic slow groove. Both songs, I do believe, were written by Stevie Wonder.
would love to buy a drink for the guy who, in the eighties, gave me a Ramsey Lewis album, i have been a big fan since. Great nights in THE COUNTY INN. Thursday nights were Brilliant. If you read this leave a message.

This is the R.O.G. band with Stevie Wonder backing Ramsey on this cut.
To bad Stevie's synthesizer solo was erased on the one. He was smokin'
and played the melody here.
