You visit Taris in SWTOR and see the aftermath of it's destruction 300 years later. Very cool. And like Taris in KOTOR you spend a lot of time on the planet--this is on the Republic side, I dont know about imperial side.

@Shaby18 they're still damn good. as in, they've aged well. unlike some old games, such as Morrowind. the only problem with the graphics is that the resolution is damn low. only 480p. fortunately, the PC version has a few mods to deal with that.

I was a bit unsure of it at first, although it still sounded great, but the beta has completely secured my intentions of buying it. It's by far the best MMO created, and is worth it just for the storyline alone.
@TheZoulStormer Trust me, if you like really in-depth storylines on MMO's, Bioware has secured their position as one of the best to pull it off. I played both WoW and Perfect World for several years, and both of them are plotless grindfests in comparison. The Old Republic has voice actors for /everything/, even the character you play as, and a Mass Effect-style dialogue selection screen on cutscenes. I absolutely love the voice for the female Sith Inquisitor. It's just wonderful all around.

@TheZoulStormer I was skeptical myself. But I played both an Inquisitor (Assassin spec) and an Imperial Agent (Operative spec); I'm normally not a melee fan at all, but lightsabers felt like a must for me, and it turned out rather beautifully. But, I did like the gun combat more. It just felt a little more fluid as far as abilities go.
The downside most people have is there's no auto-attack. So you can't play lazily, you have to actually use abilities. I like it that way though, actually.
@TheSe7enthSin The thing that made melee interesting in KotOR was the combat animations. I really hope they brought some of that animation back in the MMO. One thing i really like about Imperial agent and Smuggler is the new princip of actually taking cover. I think Troopers and Bounty hunters should be able to do that too.
And no auto-attack? That's a great idea. People is also complaining so much about no addon support and macro's. But really. They only make people even more lazy.
@TheZoulStormer They do have good animations, but I didn't notice too many on basic attacks on the Assassin (Inq.), such as "Maul", "Thrash", etc. It was kind of simple lightsaber attacks. Distinct from one another, but not very specific to me.
By comparison, taking cover, throwing a grenade, the sniper shot? All beautiful animations for the IA. It felt beautiful for being a non-Force user actually standing out so much.
And yeah, that's my standpoint. Now you actually have to play smart.

The cutscenes are silly at points, but to me, the interactivity of it and actual dialogue -- much like Mass Effect -- make up for any of it completely. The actual class story is wonderful though. Hey, On kashyyk i have a problem with the Star fore. When i gain access to it and the cinematic of it finishes I crash to desktop. No compatablity option i've triedon my Win 7 64-but option seems to help out on this crash, even though the compatablity options help with playing the rest of the game. Any suggestions?
You really have to play out this game yourself and experience it, and it's so well made you even get attached to the characters like they are real people., I was also a lot younger when I played this game, but still, I recently played it again and still loved it, this is just an experience you must have had at least 1 time in your life, you will be amazed! It's also very good music, when I listen to it, it brings back very good memories, makes me cry and want to play it for fist time again!
It took me about 60 hours xD, but I also did a lot of side quests and loved the story so I always read the dialogue very good, one of the best games I have ever played, not that the graphics or gameplay mechanics were so damn good, they were good, but its because of the best deep and immersive story ever made in my opinion, the ending is so well thought out and a shocking surprise, I seriously cried at the end, because the game was over and because of the ending ;), I won't spoil it!

@etocadet what i no thinking of modding i thinking of restoring content, and changing skins. why stick with same skins when a few years later the community can make them look nicer.

@dja9891721 thats perfectly fine, even giving him the revan costume is perfectly fine, but using mods ti change stats is stupid, i used to play unreal tournament like that, then realised ht e game had a lot more bite without cheats
