  • You should try vandoren traditional reeds. I would probably sugest going up to a size 3 reed too. You have a nice initial sound, but it gets buzzy as soon as you try to push it. A harder reed will help that and should help with the altissimo notes too.

  • you're pretty awesome

  • um is this a concerto piece?

  • i have the same sax and mouthpiece. i love it

  • that's good......I ply it also....

  • My theory professor is the guy who wrote this piece.

  • Cool. I e-mailed him a while back when I first performed it, asking him to check out this video to see if I did it right. Never got a response though.

  • I bought this piece a while ago from a music store and from then on i found that i love 20th century pieces.. the only problem is i can never seem to find anymore, if you have any suggestions it'd be appreciated. Very well performed by the way

  • GOOD xD

  • Sweet, i have obtained the sheet music to that. I am so gonna play it.

  • loved it, im gonna try to get that music

  • that was great.

  • Oh my gosh. That was good.

  • the reed Doesn't Make The Player. He has great talent. End Of Discussion

  • im just saying, two sax player aren't alike, one might be able to hit those altissimos on a 2.5, another might be able to hit them on a 3, everyone is not the same

  • Thanks for the defense :) Yeah, it's all about preference. I agree though that it's easier to hit altissimo notes with harder reeds, but I prefer the sound and flexibility of a softer reed.

  • no problem, i play on 2.5 or 3 reeds, but i perfer 2.5

  • I love Vandoren 3.5 reeds. I've got the same setup as him just different reeds. Great sax too.

  • that's awesome, the selmer super action series II is an incredible sax, what kindof vandoren reeds do you play on.

  • um, the reed doesn't make the player, it's what you perfer

  • pretty good though

  • 2.5?

    You've got be kidding me.

  • What's wrong with a 2.5 reed?

    Although I play on a 3 (sometimes a 3.5), I know it's not like a 2.5, but it's all preference.

Do you think that the strength of the reed determines how good you are?

  • excellent job.

i do agree with paintblfrk though, if you want to improve your altissimo, you're going to need to start using stronger reeds than 2.5.

but still an overall great performance.

  • amazing! what is that piece called?

  • boo

  • AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • your never gonna sound good in altissimo if your on a 2.5. start bumpin up. i play on a vandoren 4

  • Is there really such thing as a 4 reed?

  • yea, it goes up to 5, 4.5's work really good too

  • ur balls need to be punched until they come out ur throat

  • @lipsman92 wtf shit in your cereal? This is a beautiful peice of music. Learn to appreciate or GTFO. Some people don't know a good player when they see one. YOU need to get a life. =)

  • i really enjoyed that. but please enlighten us. who's the composer of this "20th century"

    piece?

  • holy shit that guy is good.

  • What is the name of this?

  • wow awsome job

  • bwa ha ha i need that music ! i bet i could play it in like a month ! lol ♥

  • Thats quite a nice piece...well played

  • what kind of sax do you got

  • oh shut up Blue0ctane

  • University of Guam?

  • Yes or no lol good stuff tho... yur defnitly on the way

  • 'Felt like' you had fun playin it.... are you sure?? lolol

  • Very nice. To improve your altissimo, work on your overtones.
