  • Isn't it nice to see how music and art had their own individual identity back then ? A time when nobody wanted to sound like everybody else ? Thanks for the beautiful song, it brings back a lot of fine memories !

  • Hello friends... Just passing by and crying a little tear to this song again.

  • BEAUTIFUL English lyrics with Greek music give me more more

  • I would like to thank Simes158 for helping us in White Sails lyrics. I 've been waiting for some corrections about two years. :)

  • I used to listen to this over and over as a child. Great memories.

Couple of little corrections (in capitals):

    In the early morning sun

    I CAN'T hear A SINGLE MAN.

Since they went far beyond the sea

    Leaving us an empty JETTY

How many hopes of return do they now FULFIL

RING MERRY churchs bells AND echo in every home...

Of course, you may not agree with my lyrics, but I figure I've probably listened to this song over 500 times! ;o)

  • Brasil- São Paulo, Vóz e música lindíssima, que Jesus lhe dê muita saúde, e muitos anos de vida, para nos presentiar com essas maravilhas, I LOVE YOU, GREGO QUERIDO.

Saludos! Gracias.

  • My english is not as good as I Thought because I'm from spain... Will you excuse me?

  • Both of you are great. I couldn't understand more than half by myself. Thank you again.

  • Another correction in the sentence:

    ...In our LONELY expectation...

  • Thank you so much.

  • Here they come... I can see most everyone, In the early morning sun I can hear the sing from men. In MARRY church BELLS echo in every home... Spread the good news around you. Tell everyone that the men have at last returnED... And that every wish has come true. How many days did we pray for each one of them In our only expectation... How many hopes of return do they now fulfilled In A happy celebration.
  • See how THEY CONQUERED the wind and the ocean waves... See how they stand so mighty. One hundred days Since they went FAR beyond the sea Leaving us AN empty CHANTEY How many tears did we cried Waiting for this day, In our dark imagination... How many hopes of return do they now fulfilled In this happy celebration. White sails... White sails... Mast running high, run and knock ON every door tell the women not to cry...
  • Unfortunately the lyrics Shagrama have sent there are some wrong words. I like this song very much and I tried too many times to take it by ear. As you can see I'm sending my version probably with the correct words and you can find then in CAPITAL LETTER.

    White sails... White sails...

    Mast running high,

run and knock ON every door

tell the women not to cry...

    Here they come...

    I can see most everyone,

    In the early morning sun

I can hear the sing from men.

    continued

  • beautiful song

  • greetings from greece!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • When I was a child I had a friend that was son of greek inmigrants, we played a lot at his home and trough this I heard a lot of greek music and learn a lot of greek culture... My friend died and their parents took him to be buried in Grece... White Sails always makes me cry because we hear it a lot and he said to me that he wanted to return to Grece some day.

  • It's so sad man. And you're great because you have not forgot the pure heart of your childhood. Your friend was so lucky to have such a great friend like you.

  • dear friend ,your story make me so sad..

  • White sails... White sails...

    Mast runing high,

run and knock in every door

tell the women not to cry...

    Here they come...

    I can see most everyone,

    In the early morning sun

I can hear the sing from men.

  • Greek music is so full of Joy and Hope... Greeky alura...

  • His voice sounds' like fly wings!!!!!!!

  • Wow! I was actually looking for "White Wings" but this one is every bit as good. No song that I know by Demis Roussos has left me unmoved. (Has anyone got "White Wings"?)

  • He should have stayed with his progressive rock stuff.
