Well, I've always known who Cat stevens was. There are a few of his songs which I love, but I hadn't realized that he changed his name to Yusuf Islam after becoming Muslim.

Yes, I liked some of his CS stuff. Wild World especially. He has done some lovely Islamic songs as well as lectures on various Islamic topics. He has a beautiful speaking voice too, very calming. You might like to hear his version of the Adhan (the Muslims call to prayer) it is very beautiful. You will find it on Youtube search: yusuf islam + adhan.

salams, i hope u dont mind me answering u. its best to ask a scholar or imam about that, but my understanding is that it is best to be polite and give salams if u see them. u dont have to be close friends or spend time with him, but u r brothers in islam so u love each other for the sake of Allah. u can explain that u dont wish to spend time with him on a social basis but for the sake of Allah it is better to move forward and acknowledge each other when u see each other.
