Video Gaming is getting too expensive. I can no longer keep up. I helped make it what it is, I contributed heavily. There will be a day when I can no longer purchase video games. You know, I payed $1,500.00 for an Original Alienware Pc. It was great for a few months, top of the line, then it was old in a blink of an eye. At least with the consoles, I do not have to upgrade PC every time a new game comes out.
cool specs, can you please tell me how were you able to install the NetGear WG311T in windows 7? i cant seem to find the appropriate drivers for it, they only have windows xp and vista drivers from their website. hope you can help me out, thanks..
@patetarr you can but a pc with really good specs but they cost thousands you could biuld one for 500 pounds or 600 400 dollars that can play it on high
it looks great, i had to run crysis on medium, and even from that i can see a huge difference, but i cant run bioshock 2 though, its time i upgraded my graphics card, i go through games like nobody's bussiness, and pretty soon without upgrade, i wont be able to play that many.
Your an idiot. I've seen that monitor before, and i went ahead to and paused the movie and at 480p resolution with youtube video and on full screen you can even clearly see its 1680x1050, Before you embarrass yourself anymore know what your talk about before hand.
lol i got that same keyboard except i have a antec something thousand and a 9600 GT XXX Alpha dog Edition overclocked to 850 mhz and runs at about 135 F
@14snow14 lol... with that setup, it would nearly rape Crysis! It should run with no worries. I think it would be better to use the i7 core and ati 5800's series if you have the cash.
umm... on his comments, it said on "high settings". Do not really know whether he will turn anti-aliasing on or off. But anyway, you are right about the very high settings. Buy an ATI 5870, a nVidia 285, or a nVidia 295. That will for sure allow you to run it on very high settings and with anti-aliasing, I hope...
No, it's a dual core just at a high frequency. So it's faster at somethings then a lower frequency quad core. But at the same time a quad core that a program can utilize all cores will out perform it with ease.
So say a program uses a single core, and the dual and quad run at same frequency they would run the same speed. But if a program can utilizes the 4 cores in the quad it will outperform the dual?
i have a nvidia 9800 gt superclocked edition, and a faster quad core processor, why can't i play it on very high settings without lag but you can? like if i go on high settings it's perfect but if i go on very high there is some EXTREME lag...
I took your advise. I am only going to buy one 5870. I will still be able to run Crysis (and other games) on max settings without lag. In the future I do plan on buying another one, so that I can play the new resource intensive games such as "Crysis 4", lol. (I also might just upgrade to a 5870x2.)
I'm only going to buy one monitor, however. If I did multiple monitors, I would want to do three of them (I don't like the bar in the middle where the two come together. With three monitors there are two bars, but neither of them are in the middle.)
Can someone tell me what parts i should get 0-$2000 AUS? (noob at making comps./stats). Used for games, downloading, browsing, Photoshop, Dream Weaver (Adobe) etc.
i am thinking about building my own computer could someone post a video of how to do it or give me a list of things i could get at best buy (cant buy stuff online) to build it with

Hey whats up dude im back again.. i finaly ordered my pc . i got it from iBuyPower.. i got a gtx 360 a Quad core from AMD and 4gb ram and windows XP do u think i'll run MW2 on very high???
Thanks again dude for all the help u gave meeeeee thanks thanks thanks alot alot and alot ;)
rofl what? On screen display timeout? How does that help with blur? But anyways, I've already returned this monitor. Going for that new 120hz Viewsonic LCD now lol.
I know sounds ridiculous, but I messed with all the settings and said what the hell might as well mess with that, and it actually improved it, don't know how, and don't know why. But yes, this isn't a hardcore gaming monitor, if you are going to spend the money, go for the 120hz monitor.
Good job man, PSU is a little low on watts, I recommend you google "PSU Test", lots of great websites that will recommend to you the approximation PSU watts needed to run.
Actually I did a lot of research on that, my computer would do fine with the 430 watt I had on it before. It only consumes 383 watts, including all USB hook ups/PCI cards and everything.
It's actually for an off-brand pretty good, for the price and performance, as well as the quality of the components it is very dependable for my type of system. I could run a GTX260-GTX280 with ease on this type of system, SLI on the other hand is a big no-no.
hi this might sound confusing but what r the best graphic cards which r reasonably priced ...im getting a i7 and 4 gb ram but i cant get the gtx 295 what other card would be best for high spec games
ATI cards are great if you don't want anything else but graphic's rendered, basically you get beautiful graphical power, but it doesn't take advantage of Physics as well as NVIDIA, and just pure environment games, so it's your choice really.
this is my gaming rig SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 4890 OC SAPPHIRE RADEON HD 4890 OC ASUS P5Q PRO Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Chipset Boxed NEC AD-7203A DVD-rewriter 20x LF IDE (black) Corsair TX850W Apevia X-Plorer Metal Case COOLER MASTER V8 Systeemcooler 80 x 80mm Systeemcooler 80 x 80mm i think that cards in crossfire are better then a 295gtx
GTX 295's so i can get 2 of them for Quad SLI. That would be just ridiculous- you would need a Quad Core CPU to feed them information fast enough to keep up with those beasts. Either that or buy 3 GTX 285's for Tri SLI- im not sure which would be faster. Or i could always go short term and buy a second 9800GT SuperClocked and get the performance of the older GTX 280 for less than a hundred bucks.
Hell, I say just get two 285's that ridiculous power enough, but short term is never the option, at least not to me, cause you'll end up spending more money in the end anyway.
Vista isn't bad at all, its one of those things that is highly under-rated because some people with slow computers had it pre-installed on it. Vista would run fine on a computer like this. Windows 7 runs beautifully. If you want Vista you need not just CPU power, but also GPU power. If you don't balance the two then your going to have a bad experience with it. And really you only need 2GB of RAM with vista, it doesn't suck that much RAM if you have enough on the Graphics card.
u recommend me xp or vista? cuz my friends tell me that xp is way better then vista and easier to use but im kinda confused because in the future like in 2 years the new games that will come out like cod7 and cod8 will not be made for xp so i will have to upgrade to vista or 7 rite? ... its kinda fucked up ima noob with computers and sorry for asking u such alot of questions :S ...
thanks fo ya help bro :) really apreciate it mayne...
Windows XP runs just as fast as Windows 7 runs on my computer, which is essentially Vista, so if you had to get a operating system, I would say spend the money on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit, but if you can wait a little bit, get Windows 7 which will be coming out near the end of the year.
i have another question can u plz give me a link where i can buy ur computer case and does it only have 2 usb ports cuz i have a USB keyboard and a USB mouse and an ipod so i will not be able to plug the 3 things on my computer.. thats dissapointing
my build (brand new): intel i7 quad core 2.93 ghz evga mobo 6gb ddr3 1600 corsair RAM nvidia gtx 285 1 gb western digital 1 tb 7200 rpm hdd power supply ocz 700w forget my case's name lol but tis a mid tower black & white logitech z2300's acer montior (forget model name but its the orange one that comes with the predator) 24" 1920x1200 50000:1 contrast ratio 2ms response time vista home premium :( soon to be windows 7 razer mamba and microsoft x6
I got a Windows XP Pro disk for free actually from TigerDirect when I bought my Hard drive. You can buy Hard drives that are pre-loaded with operating systems.
Hmm... all I could think of is just make sure your computer is free of any viruses, and have the most updated bios for your motherboard, and drivers for the graphics card.
It's very hard for me to believe that it's because of the computer. When I first got the computer I installed the Crysis demo same day ( after I had installed drivers ect ) and back then the FPS was even lower at Very High. ( I'm using 9,4 drivers atm which are a bit stabler than it was back then. )
I've ran 3dmark06, got 12,5k 3dmarks which seems pretty high.
You have to remember Crysis isn't coded really well, it runs better on some computers then others, and I truly think 3dmark is a joke, I got 10k on it, yet I can run Crysis and other games just as well as computers with 16k+ scores. I don't really know if it has to do with ATI being your graphics card, but I'm sure there shouldn't be that big of a difference compared to my 9800GT.
Video Gaming is getting too expensive. I can no longer keep up. I helped make it what it is, I contributed heavily. There will be a day when I can no longer purchase video games. Carplon 2 years ago
Uh, you really don't need 2x 5870's, lol. One 5870 will run any current game on max settings, and any game within 2 years on max settings at least.
Buy an extra monitor so you will actually put ONE 5870 to good use (EyeFinity) instead of getting 2 and not utilising any of its power.
Then in future when you get some lag, buy another 5870, it will be way cheaper too.
l337z0r 2 years ago
You're probably right. I just want to be able to run Crysis on very high settings, 8x AA, AF, and at native resolution (1920x1080) without lag.

ATI cards are great if you don't want anything else but graphic's rendered, basically you get beautiful graphical power, but it doesn't take advantage of Physics as well as NVIDIA, and just pure environment games, so it's your choice really.

Not true at all, two GTX 295's will out do any ATI card on the market in crossfire.
Sypthv8 2 years ago
i ment those 2 in crossfire and i ment a single 295gtx
m0hawk1dwarf 2 years ago
ya i can run crysis 1680x1050 on all enthusiast (9800gt (SLi) oc'd at 725 gpu 1100 memory)
nicks1258 2 years ago
Im waiting for the prices to drop on the EVGA
GTX 295's so i can get 2 of them for Quad SLI. That would be just ridiculous- you would need a Quad Core CPU to feed them information fast enough to keep up with those beasts. Either that or buy 3 GTX 285's for Tri SLI- im not sure which would be faster. Or i could always go short term and buy a second 9800GT SuperClocked and get the performance of the older GTX 280 for less than a hundred bucks.
illmagnified 2 years ago
Hell, I say just get two 285's that ridiculous power enough, but short term is never the option, at least not to me, cause you'll end up spending more money in the end anyway.

My friend has the same board and has a XFX GTS 250 and it fits, they are roughly the same size so, I would say yes.

When at high temps it gets a little loud, but not annoyingly loud, personally, I like to hear my fans to know they are doing their jobs.

why not vista
xLilxkid24 2 years ago
cuz it sucks and its slow and just vista takes 1gb of ram
SubscribeBiTCH 2 years ago
Vista isn't bad at all, its one of those things that is highly under-rated because some people with slow computers had it pre-installed on it. Vista would run fine on a computer like this. Windows 7 runs beautifully. If you want Vista you need not just CPU power, but also GPU power. If you don't balance the two then your going to have a bad experience with it. And really you only need 2GB of RAM with vista, it doesn't suck that much RAM if you have enough on the Graphics card.
Sypthv8 2 years ago
u recommend me xp or vista? cuz my friends tell me that xp is way better then vista and easier to use but im kinda confused because in the future like in 2 years the new games that will come out like cod7 and cod8 will not be made for xp so i will have to upgrade to vista or 7 rite? ... its kinda fucked up ima noob with computers and sorry for asking u such alot of questions :S ...
thanks fo ya help bro :) really apreciate it mayne...

I got a Windows XP Pro disk for free actually from TigerDirect when I bought my Hard drive. You can buy Hard drives that are pre-loaded with operating systems.
Sypthv8 2 years ago
Wow, how did you make it run so smooth? I play exactly the same settings as you with my HD4850 and I only get an average of 20. :/

No Anti-Aliasing and Anti strophic filtering?
Sypthv8 2 years ago
No AA, dunno about AF because I can't seen option for it... I just put it on very high.
GameSiphon 2 years ago
Hmm... all I could think of is just make sure your computer is free of any viruses, and have the most updated bios for your motherboard, and drivers for the graphics card.
Sypthv8 2 years ago
It's very hard for me to believe that it's because of the computer. When I first got the computer I installed the Crysis demo same day ( after I had installed drivers ect ) and back then the FPS was even lower at Very High. ( I'm using 9,4 drivers atm which are a bit stabler than it was back then. )
I've ran 3dmark06, got 12,5k 3dmarks which seems pretty high.
GameSiphon 2 years ago
You have to remember Crysis isn't coded really well, it runs better on some computers then others, and I truly think 3dmark is a joke, I got 10k on it, yet I can run Crysis and other games just as well as computers with 16k+ scores. I don't really know if it has to do with ATI being your graphics card, but I'm sure there shouldn't be that big of a difference compared to my 9800GT.
