  • Thanks man I've had it for a while and didn't know where to put it

  • FIFTH: right click there and choose INSTALL, then next and next and download 977 MB of the program, almost 1 GB.

But, well, i am going to wait maybe a day to try this interesting mod of half life 2.

  • I think this video assumes that you know everything about Steam which is not very helpful

FIRST: you need to go to STEAM web page which you need to google it to find it.

SECOND: dowload STEAM which you can find the link to download in the upperright corner of the web page

THIRD: install STEAM, wait a long time to update, then CREATE AN ACCOUNT and wait...

FOURTH: In the program you need to go to where it says ALL GAMES, click there and choose TOOL(41) then look for where it says SOURCE SDK

  • @christianrrf Why would you be looking to install a mod for Half Life if you didn't even know what Steam was? The video is how to install the mod, not Steam.

  • Thanks, the .readme wasn't particularly clear but this was more than clear.

  • you have fucking lots of games in steam

  • Thanks very much for the info. It was very helpful.

  • Hey, I have just one quick question: Let's say my computer doens't hold much, so I can't have much on steam at a time. I have HL2 installed, I install The Stanley Parable, what if I want to uninstall it? Does it come out like everything else, do I remove the folder, or what?

  • Well, I haven't seen such a clear tutorial in a while. Thanks!

  • thanks man i dont know what i did that made it not work last time but now i got it thanks again.

  • @45bighit Enjoy the mod.

  • @UhSheen can it be uninstalled and if so how

  • this tutorial was unreal, playing the game now :D

  • every time I do it, it says ERROR: Could not load library client.

  • Thanks!

  • Wish more tutorials were this straight forward and helpful. Thanks a lot!

  • I'm from germany and my english is very bad.But your tutorial is great!

  • @AnnSoLP Thanks.

  • Oh finally, thank you! Everything else I could find about installing mods just said "put it in the sourcemods folder" which obviously wasn't enough.

  • Lolz, ya think you would have removed the utorrent keygens before you made the vid :P

  • I've looked on the website and it says you dont need Half Life or Half Life 2 - is that right?

I just download the mod and install it how you have?

  • @AlphaShotZ Usually with a mod that runs on the source engine, you'd need a game that uses source. Some mods such as Nightmare house 2 require specific games like Half Life 2: Episode 2 to run. Maybe you just need any source game for SP. Give it a go.

  • @UhSheen You think Portal or Portal 2 would work then?

  • thx

  • I installed the mod but it won't let me start a new game. It let's me start up the stanley parrable from steam but when I get to the main menu of the game it just wont load the map? Please reply :P

  • @iJordan1811 Do you have Half Life 2 installed?

  • @UhSheen Yep, if I open console after trying to start a new game it gives the error "failed to load map" :(

  • @iJordan1811 Unless you haven't played Half Life 2 since installing all I can suggest is that you delete and re-download it. Sorry I can't offer a better solution. If you get it working let me know so I can address the issue in a later video or an annotation on this video.

    Hope you solve the problem.

  • @UhSheen I will try playing through some more of HL 2 and hopefully it will work :)

  • @UhSheen I fixed it, I think it may have just been some weird glitch, I had already played HL2 but I tryed anyway so I played it for about half an hour and then redownloaded stanley parrable (version 1.3 released today) and tryed again and it worked flawlessly :)

  • @iJordan1811 Weird. Maybe it was a fault with 1.2? Glad you got it working. Enjoy.

  • @UhSheen Yeah that's what I was thinking, pretty good "game", very inventive :)

  • @UhSheen It works fine - no Source engine is needed :) Only the SDK Base and the mod obviously :D
