  • That was lovely. I play this on the harp, but it sounds equally nice on the guitarlele :)

You have given me a great present idea as to what to get for my boyfriend for the holiday. He was already interested in getting a parlor guitar. Do you know if the guitarlele is a similar size as a parlor guitar or is it smaller?

  • beautiful

  • This should be an advert for the yamaha gl1. I was looking for a sound sample. This sold me. Truly beautiful.

  • This is great! I can't believe a 60 quid instrument can sound like this.

I can't find the tab anywhere though!

  • I like this version better than Keith's :]

  • very nice playing

    cute guitar :)

hope you like my video response ;)

  • Wow.

That was awesome. I got my money's worth for internet this month.

  • Love it!

    thanks :D

  • lovely sound

what kind of guitar is this?

    congratulations

  • Superb playing and a beautiful arrangement.

I'd love to try it on my guitalele. Can you provide a link to the TAB please? It seems like the TAB has been removed from Keith Chappell's channel.

  • Simply beautiful!

  • Wonderful. Is this the Yamaha guitalele?

  • Beautiful, clear playing.

  • lovely playing!

  • Bravo~, this is an inspiration. Where can i purchase this arrangement? ....

Keep Posting more Carolan Music Please.

  • @LAPUbutsekikMAG Thanks! I was inspired by Keith Chappell (Keefchap). If you look him up on youtube there should be a link to the tab. It's really fun to play

  • Truly virtuoso playing - so effortless! This and Dracapally's 'Carolan's Receipt' inspired me to get a GL1. Very happy with it so far but it's difficult to keep it tuned. I've set it DGDGAD to learn this but the 4th string breaks repeatedly (I use D'Addario EJ45s) - it only lasts about 2 days each time due to constant need to tune upwards. Any similar experience of this? Could do with a tip on the best strings to use - something for harder tension, perhaps? Thanks for a top top clip. More! More!

  • @cathalwhelehan . Hi, thanks very much for your kind words. I think i used some d'addario nylon strings - normal tension. I've not had any problems with the tuning so not quite sure what's going on there. If It carries on I guess it may be a problem with the tuning pegs. Will try and record something soon.

  • This is beautiful.. I'm totally sold on the GL-1 now.. I was going to buy a baritone uke, but you can play this like a guitar! Did you need to put standard guitar strings on it? Or did you just tune the uke strings?

    I'm learning this tune too..

    Thanks!

    Sx

  • Thanks very much - it's a sweet little instrument. I put some standard classical strings on it.

  • Keep returning to this. Great, sweet touch. Please keep posting, your talent is rare.

  • Wow! you play this song awesome. I'm really impressed! Scott

  • Wow!!

Just found this...beautifully played. Couldn't have done better myself... :D

    Thanks,

    Keith (Keefchap)

  • a pleasure to listen to - thanks

  • Good sound, played with delicassy and feeling. I 'm thinking about get ting one guitalele too. After Dracapalley and you; the challenge is good!

What is the tuning you use for this piece?

  • Thanks very much - they're fun to play. The tuning is DGDGAD. It's arranged by Keefchap who very kindly has made the tab available to download.

  • lovely tune, sounds nice on the guitalele!

  • It is a lovely tune. Really impressed with your ukulele playing

  • Beautiful playing. Lucky little guitalele!

  • Thanks very much - it's a little clumsy really compared to your playing but such a fun instrument - very glad I managed to find one
