50-miles is 80km. To little. Get some sun panels on top as well, I know its almost wasted, but it looks cool. and it might be good if u deserted out in the dessert. for a week. Or u plan a trip to the nearby woods and u know it will charge it self upp abit on all those days at the hut. And there will come new techology that will make it atleast 300km, I belive. If not ask the aliens.

That EV looks pretty sweet to me.

But what's with the short range? The Toyota RAV-4 EV from several years ago can go over 100 miles per charge.

Maybe there isn't room for the same size battery pack, but today's smaller lithium batteries should be capable of similar range. 50 miles is what EVs from the 1990s could get. I would hope for much more in 2012.

its for people that dont need to commute very far. but i believe they are going to build a hybrid version. currently right now in japan, this car gets about 63 miles per gallon, and that just gas, wait untill the hybrid comes out, anyone can say 80-90 mpg?
