Widescreen my ass. This video is a zoomed in recording/re-encoding of the standard definition 4:3 screen. You just zoomed in on the letterbox in the standard definition. That is pretty clever but it does nothing for the video quality.

Don't get me wrong. It looks and sound better than the others here on YouTube. My point is you don't get "HD" when you re-encode standard definition into a higher resolution. It's the same as the digital zoom on some cameras. Digital zoom only crops the scene then blows that up; it doesn't increase and reveal finer detail. It's the same as if you crop and blow up the old little blocky video game characters like Mario on the screen; you get big blury blocks. It's not HD.

From the source recording; especially if the source is film. Finer detail can always be brought out of film. But besides film if the source was a higher resolution than the copies then even better. But of course it would cost you to get a true HD copy of the master source recording.
