  • which edition of figures are these? are they the do you remember love 1/60 yamato figures? or are they the tv version? am thinking of getting do you remember love strike armor vf 1s super valkaryie. any opinions?

  • @eckergus wow really nice 1/60 collection!!

    Outstanding !!

  • Thanks to your video, I'm buying my first Macross Valkyrie, ever! I just ordered Roy Focker's VF-1S on ebay w/ the box titled "1/60 scale VF-1S Super Valkyrie" by Yamato. I sure hope I ordered version 2.2 and not version 1 which I heard there were some problems w/ the shoulder joints. I can't wait to receive mine's through the mail! Thanks for the vid!

  • Might get Hikaru's VF-1S next week im f***ing physked

  • @OpTic3liJK Great! Enjoy!

  • @OpTic3liJK Awesome! Enjoy!

  • hey there! How's the collecting going? I got lucky to find a Lynn Minmay figure here (the CM's Corp Gutto Kuru one) and I decided that i will be breaking my Max-only theme since I'm really delighted to be having a display with Minmay figure flanked by a VF-1S Strike Hikaru!

  • @kamadoma715

Well, my collection is on a hold for the moment. I just moved from Michigan to Maine and I'm still in the process of settling down... it's going to be a couple of months before I can get back to my channel and upload more clips. How's yours? I'd like to see a clip of your collection!

  • @eckergus I really don't have any good video-capturing devices though I make slideshows of my Valkyrie pictures with Macross music.

  • how can you tell whether the figure is the second release with the fixed shoulder joints or the first release with the malfunctioned shoulder joints?

  • Well, as far as I know, you can't really tell. Both releases, the first and second, come in the same packaging and there's nothing (like a serial number or production date) that can tell you if the Valk is first or second release. Your best bet is to get one of the new anniversary Valks, the "Plus" version of the new 1/60 Valks. You can find them at HobbyLink Japan. I hope that helps.

  • Say, when you insert that bar where the big boosters are on the back of the valkyrie, does it "snap" into place or it just inserts inside smoothly?

I've checked other videos on attaching the Super Parts boosters and it didn't seem to have a snapping sound when they are inserted at the back of the Valkyrie. The only "snapping" thing I heard was when the boosters' small pegs were already connected to the backpack.

  • @kamadoma715

It kind of does, I mean, when you insert the bar to the backpack it semi-locks into place. The structure has a couple of tabs that lock the base on place, but it is true, it doesn't really snap. You're right, the only "real" snap happens when you attach the boosters themselves to the "base" structure. Good observation.

There's nothing to worry about, though. The boosters lock in place very nicely. Nothing's loose or wobbly.

  • @eckergus the show accuracy thingy was getting to me so I decided not to buy my VF-1S Max any Strike Parts, but will probably get them when I already have the VF-1A movie ver.

And hopefully my friend can help me get VF-1A TV ver. from HLJ's sale, it's really a patience game here in the Philippines since the store that brings in Macross stuff here prices the regular VF-1's for USD120 so it's better to wait and pounce at HLJ's sales.

  • I hear you man. I think you're doing well by getting your stuff from HLJ. You'll get better deals that way! Keep me post it.

  • @eckergus why I just got lucky, my friend already ordered the VF-1A TV ver. Max for me and it's just gonna cost me around 100 bucks inclusive of shipping here to the Philippines, really excited to have it in my hands.

  • That's great! Let me know how you like it when you get it!

  • what about a custom vf-1s max... on the 48 scale??

  • Hey there! I'm so excited to get a VF-1S Max in a few days. I'm not getting any Strike Parts yet since I just plan to make it film appearance accurate.

If I get one, I might stick a black skull logo on his parts just for uniformity with the heat shield.

  • I hear you. I'm glad you're getting it. The v2.0 1/60 Valks are truly awesome. Let me know how you like it when you get your. XD

  • i just got mine and transformed it once back and forth.

I'm really having a hard time connecting the fuselage back to plane mode, it's just too tight and it somewhat stresses the plastic.

to be more specific, it's that time when you connect the nose part of the plane to the battroid chest (where the color stripes are) when transforming back to fighter mode. it's kinda hard to pull back the chest to make room for it to snap together.

  • okay i found it out a few hours ago, I'm supposed to pull out the fuselage away from the diecast plate when transforming back to fighter mode and push it in if going to battroid mode. Thank goodness I didn't break anything. I aim to get a yamato stand soon for this btw.

  • Alguien sabe como se llama el Tema que esta de Fondo?? Es de la Pelicula Do you Remember Love... pero como se llama??

  • whats the difference between these 3 and the Do you remember love version? Which is better? Tks!

  • I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I'll try to answer you question.

These three Valkyries are from the 1S line. Only Squadron Leaders get to fly these Valks. Roy's Valk (Yellow scheme - Black Skull Logo) is seen in both the show and the film. However, Hikaru's (Red scheme - Red Skull Logo) and Max's (Blue scheme - Blue Skull Log) are only seen on the film, you don't see Hikaru nor Max flying these Squadron Leader Valks on the show.

  • In the TV show Hikaru gets to be Squadron Leader and is assigned Roy's Valk after Roy's death. It is only in the film that Hikaru gets to have his own VF-1S with his signature red color scheme (shown here). Now, note that all these Valks have the Super & Strike Parts. These attachment were mainly used for outer space missions. In the film Max gets to be the Squadron Learder (contrary to Hikaru in the TV show), but in the film you don't see Max using these attachments.

  • The reason you don't see Max having the Super & Strike Parts in the film on his VF-1S Valk is because the scene takes place on earth. There was no need for these attachments to be used in earth atmosphere. I have Max's VF-1S Valk with the Super & Strike Parts in this clip just for the purpose of giving the clip "picture balance." I didn't want Max's Valk to look "naked" next to Roy's and Hikaru's VF-1Ss.

  • Ok, that was a little background. Now to your question.

All these Valks are "the same." Technically speaking these three aircrafts have the same qualities. The real difference between them are their pilots. If you grew up watching the show you might identify yourself with one pilot more than the others because of their roles in the show/film. In other words, you might like one more than the others depending on who you like. It's a matter of sentimental value. I hope that answers your question.

  • 8:11 you must have a big wallet

  • I wish I had a big wallet, but I don't... I just try saving as much as I can. I actually haven't been able to get ALL the 1/60 Valks that have been released to date... I don't have any of the Kakizaki yet or Mass Production. For the moment I'm focusing on getting all Hikaru's & Max's Valks... it is expensive indeed.

  • yea well least got those though im going to wizard world next month so im hoping i can pick up ricks super valkyrie vf1s

and my sdcc exclusive stealth fighter hopefully someone has it cheap but probably not

  • nice collection of VF-1S's! For some reason i dunno what skull logo color to place on Max's 1S Packs if ever I get one, since his heat shield is black and I want it to be consistent with the color of the logo on the Packs. On the movie, the heat shield was black, but in Macross 7 it was blue, and he had Strike parts on it too.

  • I hear you man. I decided to go with the blue skull logo because I wanted it to match Max's scheme color, not his heat shield. In the film he has a blue skull logo on his VF-1A... I really don't see why he would change to a black skull logo on his 1S when he already has a "signature" blue logo. Thanks for the comment, though.

  • yeah, I guess it's really up to one's taste. Actually in the movie, Hikaru's 1S also showed that he had a black heat shield (after he killed Boddol Zer) but he also had a red heat shield when he gave that final salute.

I think I should go for the blue logo now, since the blue stripe is hardly seen with the Packs on and it will look like Roy's 1S if I don't place the blue skull logos.

  • Exactly. It is interesting that you mentioned that Hikaru's 1S also shows a black heat shield in the film. You see, if you were to watch some scenes of the film frame by frame you will notice some inconsistensis in the coloring... I know what you mean. Excellent observation.

  • Did you know that Yamato will be releasing a VF-1D "Virgin Road" Valkyrie (the double seater used on Max & Miria's wedding). That's "hoax." If you were to watch the scenes from the wedding frame by frame you would see that the Valkyrie they fly is actually a double seater 1A and not an 1D. I know the community accepts the 1D as being model of the "Virgin Road" Valkyrie, but the images don't lie, it is indeed a two seater VF-1A. Just thought of throwing this here. XD

  • Good observation!! Though I wonder why Max would sit in a 1A or 1D for his wedding since he already got his mighty blue 1J. Speaking of which, I really hope Yamato release his and Milia's red 1/60 1J v2 soon.

  • For what I have seen it seems like it won't be long before Yamato announces the release of those two. I am hopeful they will even release the Stealth Type in the 1/60 line. We'll see...

  • yeah I've heard about the Virgin Road. I guess Yamato's too lazy to making it a 1A? lol

  • Agree... the interesting thing is that the 1D is been accepted as the Virgin Road Valk. You know, whenever I'm looking for references on Valks I usually go to the "Macross Mecha Manual" website. They have an excellent listing with "all" Macross Valks. Interestingly, they also have the 1D as the Virgin Road Valk... nobody seems to be geeky enough (like I am) to go watch the wedding scenes frame by frame. Anyhow, you're right, Yamato will by no means recast a two seater 1A just for this one Valk.

  • wow great collection !! I'm a purist though, I'd not attach the super parts to Max's VF-1S, never happened in the movie :)

  • You know, it's funny that you mention that. Yesterday I commented on a video where a guy had a 1/60 VF-1A Max TV Ver with the FAST Pack on and told him exactly the same thing! (Max never had FAST Packs on his VF-1A TV Ver) I know what you mean... I just though it would be a bit more justifiable here since they're all Squadron Leader Valks. I also thought it would give more balance to the picture. Good observation. I'm glad there are fans who notice those little details. Thanks for the comment.

  • I understand your point, it is totally awesome. Seeing your video makes me want to go out and a VF-1A set (Max tv and movie, Hikaru's movie & Kakizaki tv and movie. These Yamato vals are looks really good. I'm gonna search for and watch that vf-1a max tv ver. vid you mentioned.

  • Now I'm having thoughts of buying a Strike/Super Parts for my VF-1S Max. I might just give him the black skull logo for consistency with the color of his heat shield. The line arts in Macross Mecha Manual do show Hikaru's 1S sporting black skull logos so I guess it's safe to assume that black skull logo on Max isn't really "wrong". =D

  • I wanted to stay show accurate as much as I can but seeing that I don't aim to get Hikaru nor Roy's 1S, I won't be having a Strike Valkyrie in my collection and that would be kinda bad (I mean who doesn't want a Strike Valkyrie in their collection?). So yeah might as well give Max one.

Show accuracy versus Looks + Firepower is such a big dilemma on me right now. XD

  • I hear you man, I know what you mean, it can be a dilemma. I don't have Max's VF-1S with Super & Strike Parts on my display. Yet, I thought I'd put them on his Valk to give balance to the picture of this clip. Some purists commented about this (we all know Max never had Super & Strike Parts on the film), but again, I was looking for balance and not show accuracy. I think if you wanna put the parts on Max's VF-1S it's fine. I think the real dilemma is whether the logo should be blue or black...

  • I'm probably going for black just so it looks consistent in Battroid mode. Since it (the Strike Parts) never appeared on the show, might as well just base my configuration on line arts. Macross Mecha Manual shows that the skull logo on Hikaru's 1S is black so might as well have my Max 1S with a black skull to, for a possible "what if" line art rendition.

  • whats the first song called?

ive been looking for it but its always with the guy singing

  • The first song is called: "永遠の愛 -プロローグ-"

It's the first track of the second CD of the "Macross: The Complete," the Macross complete soundtrack collection.

  • thanks a lot! Youve been a great help and nice collection

  • Sure! Thanks for visiting my channel and watching my videos.

  • these are the version 2 right?

  • Yes! These are the "new" 2.0v 1/60 Valks.

  • Awesome collection, dude!

  • Thanks man!
