In January 1971 my young family and I had a brief cruise ship stop in Fiji. We loved the island and its people, but there is one thing that is etched clearly in my mind after 40 plus years. A Fijian band played from the dock as we prepared to leave and as the ship pulled away, they continued to play Isa Lei over and over until the sound faded away. It has ever since been oneof the poignant moments of my life.
My grandmother was from Fiji and she just passed away. She loved this song and your version is so beautiful. I've been listening to it on repeat and it is so comforting.
ISA LEI , The word "ISA"used when we think or remember someone with emotional thoughts overwhelmed in fraction of a moment all the good old days or happy day you spend with them, due to the one who is leaving we might or maybe not see each again "LEI" compliting the sentences in rememberance but so sad to see you go or eventually saying gudbye,
hey...sorry but i got to be honest here..the pics are really good but the version is jz horrible..u got great voice though..dont mind my negative comments..well done bro!
you got a good voice i gotts to give you that........but becarefull with your vibrato....becarefull not to over do it.... and please dont try and change the pronouciations.......it kinda killed it for me wen some of the words were to slangyyyy 9 hope that is a word) but i love your version.....

Is this being sung by one of the Gulabdas family members?
I remember their house is up on the hill overlooking SavuSavu.
Some words are a bit kai India and not being pronounced correctly but nice rendition all the same.
God Bless you all...

I really love your own original version. You are very creative!
Your voice carries sorrow that is woven deeply and fits beautifully with the lyrics.
BRAVO!!! God bless.
