Vicky you are so nice to comment on here. I can see how this can happen if you have health problems. I have a best friend who I adore and when my kids were little she would help me clean on Saturdays every week, I had no health problems, but, boy did it help and we got to hang all day!

My congenital (Birth)ydisability affects my hands and legs which get worse as i get older & my muscles get weaker.

My knee dislocated in bed a lot and I had difficulty getting myself out of it- so I slept on the settee for the best part of three years!

@vickyallfm969 My grandmother walks around with a walking frame and is A LOT more disabled than you and still is able to clean her flat. If you can lift your arms then you can clean your house. She is 83 years old by the way!

@LoTTuZ age has less to do with mobility than mobility does. I have sciatic nerve damage. Which means that when i flared up, i had less mobility than your average 80 year old. I was unable to dress myself, go to the toilet on my own, or get in and out of the tub. Mind you, my house is clean but it wasn't when my back/neck was at it's worst. I have learned to manage it now and feel well for the most part. But for five years i had less ability to move about than your grandma..

@groovylocks it just seemed (in the show, and here aswell) you're blaming everything on your disease. A mess that bad in your house obviously doesn't come overnight. Small things accumulate until it looks like that. I think you agree on that part. But you have to agree that cleaning these small things up before they accumulate isn't as hard as you're trying to make it out to be. Just seems logical that if you were able to make a sandwich you were able to wipe the crumbs of the table.

@LoTTuZ So let's say her disability isn't painful as mine was. And she appears normal but, since her muscles are affected, she can't lift easily or bend without losing balance. As a disabled person, i get irritated when people use disability as an excuse, yes. But i also get irritated when healthy knowitalls who have ZERO experience with chronic pain or loss of mobility think they know how easy life should be for a disabled person.

You were so disabled that you couldn't move about in the house. How did it get so dirty then? Kinda contradict itself, don't you think? You have obviously moved stuff around. Cooking food is just as hard as cleaning. I mean pushing a mop around or a duster and a wet cloth on tables isn't really climbing the mount everest. Just wanna understand

@groovylocks One more thing. Don't make assumptions about me. You and I are more alike than you think. I've had my share of problems too. The worst being chronic nerve damage in my back. I get pain attacks that made me lie down twitching in pain when I was younger. Could go on for hours. Now i just live through the pain and do my tasks, (since I've gotten so used to it). Just as i saw you write. So no I don't have ZERO experience, not as much as you maybe but do you only talk to experts in life?

I ask because i am also disabled and it was very hard to clean when i was bedridden (i used to be messy, became very clean, THEN became disabled - long story) Anyway, i ask because i have managed to deal with my pain using internal martial arts. And it's really made me quite strong again, almost 100%. Might be worth looking into? It won't work miracles but it will maximize the mobility you CAN have.
