This warfare hymn is better than the national anthem....I wonder what General Booth would make of the present day user friendly compromised "church"? I think the sad fact is that not many actually WANT the Fire of God to fall among them because it would burn up all the entertainment, politics, psychology, money, and media content that thrives in churches nowadays, and would mean engaging in a commitment to confront sin, personally and nationally, rather than learn to "live" with it....
@goldsmithexile - I couldn't agree more. The UK so needs revival but when you read accounts of past revivals they are all characterised by people coming under great conviction of sin, particulary when the true presence of God is revealed. I think Christians in the UK don't want to address the compromised lifestyles we all live. Sin is attractive, if it wasn't it wouldn't have the same hold on our lives but praise GOD it's power is broken through the precious shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
@WaddonRam agree with you fully......sin is attractive and isn't grace wonderful? We know the devil is a liar and God gave us the most precious gift of all.......I would like to see God's people renounce all that the world want us to claim as "an acceptable and chosen lifestyle", for our men to be men of God. To show leadership, I want my children to see what men of God are..........there are no grey areas with God. He is absolute, He is black and white.....He is our Lord, and we are His people
