I think my biggest concern about this would be if they are not big enough to trip the beam if the door is closing.... But then cats are pretty smart about not getting squashed :-D
@tubemaster2703 He needs a wireless remote we could put on the floor for all the cats and dogs in this building. Instead, I'm getting him to the point where I can send him to another floor and he can get off the elevator by himself. =^_^=
@yourlilchinagirl Yeah, I see a problem with him getting off by himself if you send him all by himself. How's he gonna call the elevator for the return trip?
@tubemaster2703 Here's how it works: 1) I send my cat to the floor of neighbor who is expecting him, 2) the cat either gets off or not. The door will close. The neighbor can hit the button and open the door for the kitty, or press door hold, to give him more time to get off the elevator, and then release it. 3) Neighbor sends cat back to my floor, and the same thing happens.
By teaching the cat not to take too much time getting off (repetition), I think he'll get it.
@yourlilchinagirl I think I have an idea, They should figure out a way to make a collar sized wireless remote, so all he'd have to do is push the button (assuming he could reach it)

@RomanticLinguaphilia Apparently they are better than I. I nearly got squashed by a door on the Muni in SF!

@tubemaster2703 How about voice activated? One meow for up, two meows for down?

@yourlilchinagirl Perfect! (Or in C-M's case, Purrfect)
