  • Total fucking brilliance and insanity....Bob IS Roger Whitaker....or James Galway....or maybe Richard Stillgoe....crossed with Passolini...I am that man from Allied Carpets.

  • Reeves and Mortimer reduce me to tears of hysterical giggling with their absurd characters and sketches. Thanks for uploading this clip.

  • The guy who does the introductions at the beginning always cracks me up too, he also introduced guests on shooting starts..some of the stuff he comes out is just legendary. Never seems to get mentioned though.

  • @alzico I think the bloke was an old english character actor called Patrick Allen...In the 1970's .He used to do a lot of voice over work and adverts and a famous adverts for an English construction company called Barratt Homes where he flew around in a helicopter...very glamorous in a typical 70's way!!....If you ever watched the 1980s comedy "The Young Ones" Alexie Sayle takes the piss out of him in one episode.

  • When me and some friends were in the sixth form we used "The day the donkey derby came to town" as the ending song of a little game we wrote.

  • When it came up to 1:32 I almost pissed myself when I first watched it

  • I want this album.

    "The bloke from Allied Carpets"

  • Vic looks like Terry Wogan in this

  • They're remarkably avant-garde.

  • I can never get enough of Mulligan & O'Hare. If they did release a REAL album I'd buy it.

  • but for the plate fungus

  • They were wasted on that Shooting Stars, they should have carried on doing their own thing instead of that celebrity love-in rubbish.

  • AND IM NOW 26

  • I FIRST WATCHED THESE AT 10 YEARS OF AGE ! IF THESE TWO DIDNT EXIST, I WOULDNT BE THE PERSON I AM TODAY ! I LOVE VIC AND BOB WITH MY HEART !!!!!!!!

  • Vic is not unlike Terry Wogan!

  • @GBPaddling

    Wogan's got manboobs?!?!?!?!??

  • @Di0genesus They're also known as Boosems, especially if they're a result of drinking too much beer!

  • Still love 'em x

  • this is completly bonkers !!! i luv it

  • Pegg man!!

  • I love how Vic Reeves character 'Mulligan' has ever growing breast throughout the series...

  • "She's increasingly slapdash / since we bought that new hearth-rug"

    Utter genius

  • It's kinda funny, I suppose. Keep in mind I'm a stupid American, so I won't get it all >_>

  • @InnocentzRaptor Its kind of a surreal attempt to poke fun at those stupidly long commercials for music nobody ever buys. Vic and Bob have a North-eastern outlook on surrealism, much different to Monty Python.

  • @InnocentzRaptor Vic and Bob are taking the piss out of the folk duo 'Foster and Allen'. If you do a search for them you will get it.

  • @balthazaa2001 my step-dad likes foster and allen, just looking at their album covers used to crack me up

  • I I want one of those horns with the massive ballsack attachment.

  • Simply Brilliant

  • The day the donkey derby came to town,

the people came to watch from all around,

alas we didnt see who won the race,

  • Too much polyester.

  • MY ROSE HAS LEFT ME SO IM IN A MOOD!

  • Haaaa!!! Anno ritchie. fuckin classic.lol

  • She's gone to Kenya with the bloke from Allied Carpets.

  • Oh shit that was brilliant

  • i love the subtle touch of mulligan's wee bitch-tits :) First saw Mulligan and O'Hare skits during a hard time at uni and subsequently some of their greatest hits (inc. Hotdogs For Sale and We've Fallen Out of Our Honda) became frequently sung classics throughout our student home......

  • Did anyone else see Shooting Stars a couple of weeks ago??Was amazing,Vic & Bob back to their amazingly random selves.

  • ha ha. vic and bob come up with the most random comedy imaginable but yet its the most hilarious too. genius.

  • how do these two keep a strait face doing this?

    so funny!

  • but somebody obscures my view of you

    really who

  • no my friend i can't see you... this plate fungus obscures my view!!!! pure genius!!

  • I don't know if it's just me but Vic looks like Terry Wogan with tits.Must be his sister Terri Wogan

  • Yes, he's obviously based it on Wogan (there is another part of Reeves & Mortimer where Terry Wogan's hair is mentioned), though it's a parody of folk duo Foster & Allen.

If you want a good laugh, look at the video of Terry Wogan & Aled Jones singing "The Little Drummer Boy"...it could be Mulligan & O'Hare.

  • Absolute comic genius, there is nowt funnier that Reeves and Mortimer. I hope they do more!

  • Proper music from the first (and best) progressive rock supergroup

  • What! No Vymura? Shame!

  • hahaha the music was sure better in the old good days!!!

  • Better than sex.

  • Anyone know the names of those ancient and mystical instruments? What music store has them?

  • Allied Carpets should be paying these guys.

  • reminds me of a time when everyone was on a high.funny tv programs, great tunes & great drugs.anyone remember the club?

  • nice pair of tits vic lol hehe

  • bigger than mine lol!

  • Mulligan and O'Hare, Corbossier & papin the list goes on reves and mortimer make me laugh my head of every time i watch them on tv this is great comedy and i hope it gets better and better

  • Thanks, I'd forgotten for a moment there (a moment being several years) how much I love Bob Mortimer! I have been singing the plate fungus song to my kids all evening, they think I have lost it.

  • Did you also forget; 'my rose has left me, i'm in a mood', and 'you can't give a baby booze?

    ya tight arsed little monkey

  • I just pissed myself. The clip had nothing to do with it, I'm just old.

  • Love it. It takes the piss out of some of the shit my dad use to subject me to on long car journeys. Now I am subjecting my son to the horrors of rock and indie. He'll proburly grow up to like RnB and dance (trendy muppet music).

  • "My Rose has left me!"

Damn that marriage wrecking Kenyan carpet salesman!

  • My Rose Has Left Me has to be one of their absolute best hehe "That's a legal requirement!!"

  • still funny all these years later. Vic looks like terry wogan and bob just looks hideous!!!!lol

  • *L* Who are these guys. Vic is on Who do you think you are" this week and Ive never heard of him (australia here)

Im assuming this is new? Loved it :)

    *increasingly slapdash* *LOL*

    brilliant.

  • Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer had a show in UK called Vic Reeves Big Night Out. They also did a pilot called The Weekenders - Meat Festival. You may know Vic best from his version of Dizzy performed with The Wonderstuff or his smashing rendition of Born Free (He released an album of Hits)

  • Not new though, not by a long way! This is well over ten years old (about '94?). Big Night Out was 1990, there first big tv show - this is the first series of A Smell of Reeves and Mortimer. There last sketch show was Bang Bang its Reeves and Mortimer. Theyre all on dvd in the UK and all pretty much hilarious. Comedy geniuses.

  • At least their version of "Another Day In Paradise" was better than the original!!! Surreal comedy at it's best.

  • It's terrifying isnt it

  • Sheer genius.
