you'll spin the wheels with a single in lower gears, and in high gear, you'll be breaking the speed limit around the rpm when the turbo's are working. low/midrange rpm turbo's is the way forward. get slightly less max bhp, but you'll be putting them all to use, that's what matters.
@Yeahitzbopi have to disagree, singles provide a huge boost on the high end but suck for low to mid. Go to japan & you'll find many tuners recommend building around the stock twin turbo set up. The balance of power delivery throughout the power band is way more smoother & efficient if managed & tuned properly. I've seen stock set up running in upwards of 500-600 bhp, i'd much rather build the engine rather than just throwing a fat snail in it.
@mysrt4303 no the american version is the is300 with a 2jzge with vvti.. same as the 2jzgte but minus the turbos and forge internal in the block that a 2jzgte in a supra has, the is300 in japan is call an alteza and it has the 3s motor which is actually weaker then the american version
what smallblocksupercharg said, but i have to disagree with the 3S-GE being weaker. It's a 2.0 i4 with the same hp and better internals than a stock 2JZ-GE. After market turbo variants of the car produce some amazing numbers and due to the car being lighter, it can keep up with R34's in the mountains of japan.

Does the 2jz drop straight into the is300??
mysrt4303 1 year ago
@mysrt4303
Is300 comes with a stock 2JZ-GE, the 2JZ-GTE is a straight drop in.

@ElegyxScene nice so the jdm version (altezza) probly came stock with a 2jz-gte right?
