@fat0nick We Hungarians are originating from the Ural mountains, too... and probably you know the names of Liszt, Kodály and Bartók, just speaking about musicians. Estonians probably didn't have many prominent people because 1) there are few of them 2) foreign rule didn't allow talented people to break out and be world famous.
Well you should. When you come at the right time. It will be amazing. For example the last winter was just magnificent. We had lots and lots of snow here. Well summer is like a summer everywhere :D

Estonia is indeed beautiful and unique. The language is melodic and soft. The Old Town in Tallinn is extraordinary and there is not another like it anywhere. I hope it stays that way until I can return for a visit.

Estonia is not like Iraq, Afghanistan or Chechnya in that it would have a insurgency and fight to the death. Estonians would just roll over and accept Russian rule. Inside every Estonian craves to be a a Russian subject!

Estonia asked Russia to join the USSR. This request was granted. When Estonia joined the USSR it had insufficent economic development. Four decades later it had its industrial output increase 45 times. The reason Estonia is successful now is because of embracing socialism and having Russia build at NO COST docks, bridges, roads. And why is Estonia still whining about the Soviet Union? You guess seperated almost 2 decades ago. Get over it!

Estonia is not like Iraq, Afghanistan or Chechnya in that it would have a insurgency and fight to the death. Estonians would just roll over and accept Russian rule. Inside every Estonian craves to be a a Russian subject!

Belive me, we would win Russi aanyway. Maybe not at the first moment, but one day, they fall apart and we again make our own country. Just like it has been so for last 2000 years. They might be stronger by military, but smaller in culture and resistance.

@Gino97 your knoweldge in estonian history is below zero. estonia has never surrendered- for example: during the livonian war, estonians had no armor, no horses to fight on and primitive weapons. their only armor was leather, weapons: wooden pikes and some swords. invaders had horses, 2x bigger army, steel swords and armor. yet estonians prevailed.

we have never said "go away". we just want you to understand us too. we understand how it must feel to live in a foreign country in middle of people speaking a different language too difficult for you to be able to learn it. in middle of people prooud about their long history and roots that go beyond 3000 years. now your roots are here for only 50 years. so naturally we feel sorry for russians

Hmm Gino, what are Italians then, sub-europeans? The admission of Estonia to the USSR was illegal and therefore not recognizable. Estonia was liberated in 1991-1993 when her independence was recognized and the russian occupation forces left the country.

I have good friends from Estonia and have been there twice. A very beautiful country - having so few people means that there is still lots of nature. A moose even came into Tallinn while I was there last summer. Eesti, ma armastan sind!

Estonia asked Russia to join the USSR. This request was granted. When Estonia joined the USSR it had insufficent economic development. Four decades later it had its industrial output increase 45 times. The reason Estonia is successful now is because of embracing socialism and having Russia build at NO COST docks, bridges, roads. And why is Estonia still whining about the Soviet Union? You guess seperated almost 2 decades ago. Get over it!
