The little things annoys me the most, like double clicking on window won't maximize it, Very cheap interface sounds. Minimize and maximize being on the left side instead of the right. The way you install and remove applications. Lot's and lot's of more. But I also got a good list of features Windows doesn't use, but should be using.
I agree that there are a few features that are quite nice, but not surprisingly, there are very light programs that give you those features. switcher 2.0 gives you the expose function (you would need to customize it tho since default color is blue), desk drive puts hard drives on desktop, rocketdock for the dock, and others. Imo, mac is not as intuitive as windows, but the only thing i like about it is imovie (i really wish they stop naming their things 'i - something')

I love OSX in general. It's complete exotic experience for someone who used Windows for many, many years. But as far as functionality and compatibility levels go, I prefer to use Windows. Perhaps Lion would change all that.

Are you sure you know what your talking about? The Compaq had a SINGLE core at 2.4Ghz whereas the mac mini had TWO cores at 1.66Ghz. So no it's not. It just shows that OSX is not streamlined at all. XP however is.

The reason people buy macs is because they don't have time to deal with time consuming issues such as drivers, viruses, spyware, ect. I run a computer repair business for windows pcs, and it never ceases to amaze me how easily screwed up a windows computer can get from viruses and spyware.
Thats why I bought my mac. The BSD kernal is extremely stable, and more secure than the Win32 kernal. I have yet to see a full system crash. However, on Vista Ultimate SP1, I have already seen 7 BSODs.

Well look at these videos this way. The models this person is using is an old version of Mac, and according to what the he's says is that all Mac's are jsut as bad as that Mac. It is the same thing as me taking a "Pentium I" computer, then tell the world how terrible it is, and say that every PC out there is just as shitty and terrible as this one I have been testing. OS wars are over for the most part. Seriously if you don't like OSX than use something else. Don't like Safari, well use something else. You have choices everywhere. If I can run Windows, OSX, and MorphOS from the same computer than anything is possible in this no sauceless wing world.
You can turn off magnification on the dock if it's bothering you, and move the window up to grab the corner. Annoying, but it still works. I personally enjoy using both Windows and Macs, they both have their strong and weak points.
The video lag when you overlay windows on the Mac might be caused by some eye candy effect. My Vista laptop would lag really hard when transparent glass was enabled, but the overlay lag went away completely when that feature was turned off. The same is probably true for your Mac.
That and who cares about IE vs Safari. Both suck balls, which is why most of the people I know use Firefox or Opera.
Worse yet, a 3.2ghz dual core P4 cannot keep up with a 1.83ghz Core 2 Duo, which is what the Mac has. That and the P4 is a single core. That's how bad that sucks for a Mac to lag. But then again, the Intel chipset for the Mac sucks too.
$599 for that Mac and it doesn't even come with DVD burning capabilities. Sad.

What ultimately prolonged my purchase of a mac mini, is that it's a $600 computer that doesn't come with a DVD burner. you have to pay $800 for one with a simple DVD burner. You can get a Loaded PC for $600.
i downloaded safari for my pc (windows) and safari is 10x better than internet and 2x better than firefox in speed and ever since i used safari i never got a single pop up

1. Compare a true mac desktop computer with your windows PC. Not a Mac Mini.
2. This is an OS issue, not a "mac" issue.
3. In Mac OS Leopard, you have expandability for your text box, like you have for the finder's windows in the bottom right corner.
4. Try scrolling on another window with a window in front on a windows platform. (without switching to hte window of course).

Oh, and BTW, the 8600 is technically, not outdated. Its only been out for a year, and it still supports SM 4.0. The only thing the 9 series has that is better, is an upgraded name, and some more memory, and NOTHING MORE!

I am both; I have a PC and a MacBook Pro, and I know you will agree with me that that mac is very old and was made to be portable and not to be fancy. I have MacBook Pro and I did not see any of the problems this person had demonstrated. And I live all the way in Russia! Well look at these videos this way. The models this person is using is an old version of Mac, and according to what the he's says is that all Mac's are jsut as bad as that Mac. It is the same thing as me taking a "Pentium I" computer, then tell the world how terrible it is, and say that every PC out there is just as shitty and terrible as this one I have been testing. You can turn off magnification on the dock if it's bothering you, and move the window up to grab the corner. Annoying, but it still works. I personally enjoy using both Windows and Macs, they both have their strong and weak points.

The video lag when you overlay windows on the Mac might be caused by some eye candy effect. My Vista laptop would lag really hard when transparent glass was enabled, but the overlay lag went away completely when that feature was turned off. The same is probably true for your Mac.
That and who cares about IE vs Safari. Both suck balls, which is why most of the people I know use Firefox or Opera.

Worse yet, a 3.2ghz dual core P4 cannot keep up with a 1.83ghz Core 2 Duo, which is what the Mac has. That and the P4 is a single core. That's how bad that sucks for a Mac to lag. But then again, the Intel chipset for the Mac sucks too.
$599 for that Mac and it doesn't even come with DVD burning capabilities. Sad.

that does look pretty disappointing. i was considering getting a mac mini because i don't want vista. I guess i just saved $600. What ultimately prolonged my purchase of a mac mini, is that it's a $600 computer that doesn't come with a DVD burner. you have to pay $800 for one with a simple DVD burner. You can get a Loaded PC for $600.
